The countdown is on!

5 weeks until summer break! Woo Hoo! Only 20 days until my sweet babies grow up on me and graduate. I'm already planning a rockin' reception with a few of my parents and grandparents! This week has been super busy, as will this next one! But here in my town, the roses are blooming, and that means one thing.....The ROSE SHOW is near! It's next weekend! I'm so excited and will post about that later. Now, let me post a picture recap of life lately.

Our Family

Our Easter Baskets...this is actually the first year that we've done Easter gifts or baskets. We are usually in Dublin and mama does them for us. I was just in the mood for Easter this year...and I mean seriously in the mood.

Matt and his new dvd player and Marley and Me...we both cried harder than ever before watching this. It really hit home with us and especially with me b/c Marley reminded me so much of my other dog, Ginger...my sis :)

In my pj's and ready to watch the movie.

My nest earrings. I was very surprised! They don't stay very long in Firefly. My first easter gift from my hubby and possibly my last!

My Easter lunch centerpiece! Loved it!

Easter Sunday

The goody bags I made the 1st graders that welcomed my kids into their class, showed them around, and made them feel comfortable. My kids were kind of sad that I didn't make them treat bags too :)

This is the back of the shirt that all of the teachers at my school wore at The Rose City Walk on Saturday! We did great! More pictures coming soon!

My handsome hubby going to play golf this afternoon! He looked so cute in his Masters hat that I couldn't resist a quick picture!

Our little Easter/Spring flag that Blakely loves to watch flap in the wind.

I didn't get pictures of me test driving "my" ;) new car this weekend or of my parents visit. They arrived shortly after we got finished with our walk, so we were rushing to get lunch fixed....sandwiches and a variety of salads from Publix. But we had a great time, ate dinner outside at George and Louie's since it was such a beautiful day! I was so sad to see them leave.

Coming up this week in my life: Teaching about the lifecycle of animals/plants and then moving into rocks and soil (yay!), Monarchs across Georgia, Field Day, a field trip to see a fairy tale, tutoring, a Presentation recap of my spelling impact project for Psych, The Rose Bud Parade, Church on Wednesday night, and class Monday and Thursday nights! I'm not even going to go past Friday or talk about all the data, paperwork, or end of year gifts that I am trying to get completed...because then a whole new set of things to do will occur! Kind of stressful, but I do love it all, I'm just ready for Summertime!

Lord, You're Holy!!!!!!!

Please, please, please watch and listen!!!! This is what Matt and I heard at our church this morning....what an amazing song of worship!!!! Oh my goodness....on this Easter Sunday, worshipping with our church family, we are so thankful. Now, if I can get my hands on a copy of our choir singing it...I will upload it right away. I'm going to talk to our video tech! I have never heard them sound so beautiful...and they sang with such praise and passion! There were these banners...oooh I just can't describe the feeling I get when I hear this. This version actually sounds so much like my church choir! So enjoy!

We are about to eat our Sunday lunch and then head over to The Jense's house! But since we've been home from church, we have probably listened to this song about 15 or more times. I just keep hitting replay.

Another cool thing, is that both of my administrators were at my church this morning! I like the fact that my school family worships with me!

ALBANY

Matt works in Albany all the time and evertime he is working there he always calls me and tells me that he just saw someone from Fireproof or Facing the Giants! He gets so excited because we love those movies and we feel like those people are celebrities!

Fireproof is one of my all time favorite movies! I love the actors, their house (the yellow is so welcoming in all of the rooms, plus they have our couch), the music, the message, and that it takes place at Phoebe Putney Hospital! So I have to say that I would be thrilled if I saw someone from that movie too!

Some beach...somewhere....

That is exactly where I'll be tomorrow at this time!!! :) This is a picture of the gulf.

Although, this pool is more up my alley! I love being at the beach, but lounging and swimming at the pool! How beautiful is this swimming pool???????? And laying on float in a clean pool could be my favorite thing to do in the world!

Louisiana Wednesday Night!

I spent the day laying out....with the breeze and beach book and Jimmy Buffett...oh and the wonderful scent of coconut, so I thought I'd be in the mood for beach music while I ate the shrimp dinner that I cooked for Matty and I! (It was the first time I cooked shrimp) :)

Well, as soon as we tried it, I'm not gonna lie, I ran to get on my cowboy boots and just had to listen to Louisiana Saturday Night. I know cajun shrimp or crayfish...not the same thing as my shrimp casserole but Yee Haw!!!!! I am just so excited about this dish and making it for my mama the next time she comes to visit. She loves shrimp more than anyone I know and never gets it because Daddy is allergic to shellfish! Enjoy the song! (It isn't a video to watch)

A perfect day for.....GOLF!

Saturday was beautiful in SGA! So, Matt and I decided to go over to Kinderlou and golf. Even though golfing is by far Matty's passion, not mine, I went without thinking twice 1. because I love to do things that he likes 2. I have a whole new stash of books that I couldn't wait to get my hands on!

These are the books/mags that I am currently reading!

I do love Kinderlou...and it got me excited being there because that is where we are going to lunch after I graduate with my Master's on August 1st! It is on the way home to our town and frankly, they have great food and rocking chairs!

Here is the clubhouse/Ravine restaurant

Pics of Matt and I at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club

Easter...a little bit early in my K class!

Easter is coming soon...Do you have your Easter baskets ready?

Candy Sushi (one of my sweet girls and her mama made this)

I love these bunny rabbit's!

But the chicks are my absolute favorite!

I really wish I could post pics of my dear sweet babies, but I can't. Let me just tell you how cute they are. After their egg hunt, I let them choose one, very special, beautiful, had to open it now, egg! Well a lot of them got something called bunny teeth in theirs....they are edible. I had parents forcing their children to let me get a pic of them with their bunny teeth on (if they did they would get a treat) haha! Overall it was a great day! It was a scary day, I might add, as 39 teachers in our county lost their jobs. Quite a few of them are dear friends of mine! I know that they must be having a rough spring break...please keep them in your prayers. Matt and I are counting our blessings right now. When something like that happens, it makes it real and makes me realize so many things.

After school I volunteered to make and serve Port a pit barbeque plates for Relay for Life. My school does a ton for Relay. I had a great time!!! Matty and I then ran into my principal at a mexican restaurant (yes, Coyoacan our fav)! Good times :) It really was a blessing to see her and it eased my soul to have a little talk with her.

Forks?

Do I live in Forks? Do you know where this town is?? If you don't, you need to read Twilight! I love the saga! I started reading it over Thanksgiving break and finished the next 3 books over Christmas break in about 3 days :) I was sucked in and my mind was addicted to the characters and the story...crazy! Anyway, I went to see the movie on Thanksgiving and didn't really like it that much. Last weekend, my parents, Matt, and I watched it in Dublin b/c I made my mom read all the books. I really liked it a lot!!! So good. It made me want to read the books all over again. And I will...but my dad is retired and thought that he might want to read them...hahaha! I love it! Most of my cousins and friends have read the entire series and are equally obsessed!

The only vampires that I could ever love ;)

Anyway, it has been raining on and off for the past 3 days. It has consistently rained for the past 24 hours and I really feel like I live in Forks. The deep rumbles of thunder remind me of baseball with the Cullens!!! A teacher friend of mine is actually having a Twilight movie night with blood red wine, brownie bites, etc. at her house in Lake Park! How pefect!

Soon to come: One of my favorite students loves Twilight. Her and her sister play Twilight instead of house. lol. Ashlynn told me her favorite parts of the movie and her little opinion was so insightful and sweet that I am going to bring my video camera and let everyone learn about Twilight from a Kindergarteners perspective! This is just one thing out of a million that makes me love my job!

Laminin, Flood Warnings, and Registration!

I watched this video on Kelly's blog and thought it was very neat. I really like Louie Giglio and have seen him speak in person several times. I have been in an extremely reflective mood lately and have been in awe at the place that I am in in my life. Sometimes it can be hard to follow what you think or know God's plan is for you...especially when it requires BIG changes or leaps of faith. I took one of those last year about this time, and struggled so much with my decision until recently. Lately, I have realized why I am where I am and have begun to understand some lessons that God has been teaching me. Let me tell you, this Fall was not easy at all! I can slap a smile on my face and put on a masquerade with the best of them. However, very few people knew how I truly felt. I never told them, but they questioned me often. Let me just say that Jesus is my rock, my comforter, and shelter! Really, He is! OK, Moving on...

It has been raining nonstop! I love rain and thunderstorms (without wind) but enough is enough. They cancelled school today for lots of counties. Not mine though :) I had a great day despite having to work in yucky weather and am looking forward to my break in 2 days!!

Today is April Fool's Day. It is not a favorite day in our home. It is a sad day for us, and if you're reading this I know you know why. So my kids kept saying "April Fool's" and "There's a spider behind you"...things like that. I did have one child that pulled a great prank on me. He came in with his arm in a cast (it was really just bandaged, but looked professional). He had a big grin on his face so I should've seen right through him, but he said he fell off his bike yesterday. I was very concerned and asked if it was swollen and if he had a bad gash, etc. He said his mom went to the store and wrapped it up....that he didn't have to go to the hospital. He even went as far as to ask if I had anything to elevate his arm with. He got a pillow and propped it up during Calendar and Circle Time. Then in the middle of a song we were singing (about an hour later) he shouted out...April Fool's! I couldn't believe it! All day I would hear him telling people, I fooled my teacher today!!! Haha! His older brother is in middle school and he went to school with a wrapped up leg. I wonder if his teacher was as gullible as I was!

Registration...usually easy and painless. This is my very last time registering for Grad school. One of the classes I was supposed to take was closed. I have emailed everyone imaginable and it is still up in the air about what to do. I also have a dilemma with what teacher to take for another class. Now, I'm seriously thinking about getting my gifted endorsement. So I decided to just give up on the first class and register for a gifted class which is what I really and truly wanted to do from the beginning. I really hope that it counts towards my endorsement! Regardless of the slight chaos, I am excited about my last semester of school and hope to learn a lot and soak up every memory!

Well, it is thundering again, so I'm going to get off the computer and do some schoolwork and spend some time with my hubby! Another night huddled inside all cozy in our pjs!
