I've loved getting to stay home and take care of her, even though she feels miserable. However, it's been really hard for me to cancel all of our plans and not continue all our special traditions...but I did.
Over the years I've gotten much better about saying no and slowing down, but I'm still not great at it. It doesn't help that all our family live out of town, so we stay busy traveling to do things with them too! And since it's just us here, our kids do everything with us. We've been going nonstop the last two weekends and we were supposed to go to Atlanta Saturday for frozen on ice. Had to cancel that.We didn't go to the rose show parade, watch fireworks, go to the rose queen tea, enjoy art in the park, or attend due south. I was most upset about missing her art show at school on Friday! I missed other events to be able to go to that one! So sad!
I was forced to slow down and just enjoy some home time with my little family! And I loved every second! I cut some roses from our yard and smelled those instead of the ones that the garden club displayed. :)
We watched the rosebud parade from our car.
Ate Moonspin to go instead of in person before the parade.
Listened to the fireworks from our house.
And spent lots of time playing dress up, snuggling, hanging out in the yard, and getting caught up on chores.
This morning Matt took Anna Claire to church and I held my feverish MC while she slept. Just cherished the moment.
Oh and we did still get rose cupcakes! It's the one thing MC would eat after a week of applesauce, yogurt, and Popsicles. She requested a cupcake with a flower and sprinkles on it!
