WEEDS

So, we have some really pretty flower beds in front of our school. My principal usually waters them during pick-up duty, while we are shuttling kids to their cars after school. Today we were standing around, talking, the big crowd had passed, and the cars were slowly streaming into our front circle. My principal decided that she would weed the beds. She then decided to get some help. So there we are, my P and about 4 teachers dressed up in cute work clothes, skirts, and flats, squatting in front of the pick-up line weeding the flower beds. My oh my, what duties and responsiblities we have as teachers. I really did LOVE every minute. The fall-like weather definitely helped.

Well, I got to thinking about weeds. And I truly believe that the Lord is "weeding" certain things out of my life to draw me closer to Him. And although it isn't my ideal scenario...I am learning so much and without any hindrances, growing too. I am learning to wait and be tended to by God. That is where I am supposed to be right now. :)

I am currently sitting on my back porch, listening to Matt singing worship songs and playing them on his guitar....smelling my Harvest Yankee candle that I have sitting right beside me, watching Blakely lounge in our backyard, and I am feeling the best cool breeze blowing slowly through SWGA! I mean, this is what life's about! :)

Loco's, Lowndes, Live Music, and Reunion Party Weekend!

Friday Night kicked off Matt's 10 yr high school reunion from Lowndes High School. Everyone met up at a local restaurant/bar and socialized. Friday night was pretty awkward...not going to lie. But we ate afterwards and it was really fun to meet some of Matt's friends. I basically only got pictures of us on Friday.

Saturday we thought about going back to Valdosta to go to a luncheon, but opted out and ran to Lowes and a few other places in town. Blakely rode around with us. She looked so cute.

Saturday night there was live music and dinner at The Women's Building on VSU's campus. It thundered and poured all evening long. That made a very cozy atmosphere and this night was a lot more fun. The awkwardness subsided. Matt got to hang out with one of his good friends, Joel. I thought that the planners did a great job with decorations and bringing back good memories. I really enjoyed the band too!

We got home super late last night and just now got home from Sunday School and Church. We are so tired. It is pretty dreary out today too, maybe I can squeeze in a little Lifetime and a nap before I have to be back at church for Bible Study and the evening service. We wore the same clothes that we wore on Friday night to church today...hahaha! At least we made it there! :)

We sang this song today...it is so old. But I just love it! Our praise team did a good job singing it!

Then last week at the Beth Moore Simulcast, we sang this oldie. So good!!

I am pretty excited that Desperate Housewives is new tonight! Yay for Fall tv!

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for this man that the Lord brought into my life almost 9 years ago. What a blessing he has been to me!

He got the chance to spend some time with my family while he was traveling through parts of Florida.

He drove to Boca Raton and celebrated my cousin Carina's 17th bday with my dads brother and sisters (my aunts, uncles, and my cousins). My uncle also drove down to where Matt was and ate lunch with him one day. *The pics are not the best quality...Matt took them with his phone.

He also drove to Merritt Island and ate lunch with my moms parents, my Nanny Jane and Poppy Bill.

I am so thankful that Matt loves my family as much as I do. I so wish I could've gone with him.

I am thankful for my shadow. She is always right by my side. :)

I am also thankful for my wing at school. We have had a lot of "drama" if you will going on with family and health related issues this week. We have really stuck together and I feel that I can truly count on these ladies, along with my administration. What a great feeling!

One of my favorite verses from my Jonah Bible study this week.
Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs. But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes from the Lord.
Jonah 2:8-9

He's Home SWEET Home!

I was just tickled that I was about to see my hubby, who had been out of town in Miami since the end of last week! I survived! Thanks to loving friends, neighbors, my church, my job, and most importantly my SAVIOR. Thank you, JESUS! I logged my day in pictures.

At work, looking rough after lots of sleepless nights and daily visits from our neighborhood foxes. But showing off my flower pin that CB made me! I got tons of compliments at school!

Driving to Chick-fil-A for school spirit night. Whoa that place can attract a crowd. But we raised lots of money for our school.

Finally...minutes before I saw my man! Pure joy!

Here is my cute hubby, still tired from his trip, outside of Subway. I am so thrilled that I have my Matty back!

I will never leave you or forsake you. -Hebrews 13:5

My Monday

The Lord is teaching me some amazing things these days. I WILL share soon. I had an amazing weekend filled with Beth Moore, Bible Study, and girl time with Carrie Beth! Lots of pics to upload soon too.

Tonight was my second night of Jonah. One of my neighbors came with me, and then another teacher friend came to my house before and we all rode together. Our supper and our lesson were both amazing. Ha ha ha! My good friend, Robin, LOVES sweets A LOT :) (she will kill me if she reads this...and she sometimes does)! She filled a littler tupperware full of cookies. They were very good.

Also, look how cute Blakely was snuggling with her toy dog tonight. Could she be any more sweet?

I just started reading Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks. It is really good. My cousin, Carina, is so lucky. She got to meet him yesterday.

I have a busy day tomorrow with work, meetings, and then Chick-fil-A night for my school. I am excited about Glee starting back too! I hope that everyone has a blessed Tuesday. The countdown to FALL is on!
“Be glad, O people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before.”- Joel 2:23

The last few days in pictures.

We have been way too busy lately. But I did manage to take a few pictures here and there.

Me and my hard working husband!

Matt's cute clothes folded so neatly. :)

I gave my kids a Pinkalicous Party today for filling up our compliment chest. Pinkalalicious by Victoria Kann is their favorite book ever, so they were thrilled. Matt helped make the cupcakes. Such a good hubby!

I found Blakely hanging out in our "empty" room tonight. She is too cute! And she never sits like that. I love it!

I am so happy that today is Friday!!! I'm really excited about hearing Beth Moore and Travis in the morning!! I am praying that the word of God speaks to my heart! It's going to be a great day of worship!
