Pretty Flowers and Weddings

Matt cut me off some of our knockout roses to put in my little bud vases today! I LOVE the bright pop of color that they bring into our bedroom and guest bath!

I also have the most beautiful arrangement in my dining room right now. My friend, Robin, gave me one of the most gorgeous arrangements ever and I love it so much! It has hydrangeas which are my favorite in it, but it also has bells of ireland, another favorite that I used in my wedding 6 years ago!

I helped her decorate for her son, Kyle's, rehearsal dinner in Bainbridge on Thursday afternoon and evening. Then helped a little bit on Friday before the rehearsal. I also painted some signs to display some of the bride and grooms favorite pictures. The dinner was in an old fire station in Bainbridge. Everything turned out really pretty and the food was awesome! I wanted Kyle and Katie to love it, but I also wanted Robin to feel like it was exactly like she envisioned it! We love the Shaver family and have come to love the Ragan family too. Katie's aunt and uncle were actually our Sunday School teachers when we were newly married and new members of our church. We also love the Rich family! So, I really enjoyed getting to help out!

We celebrated the marriage of Katie and Kyle tonight in Bainbridge. Our new pastor officiated the ceremony at FBC Bainbridge and then the reception was out at Southwind Plantation. It was awesome! I only took a few pictures and didn't get any of the decorations. I may have to "borrow" some to post on here as I see them on Facebook. They were too cute not to share.

It has been a great weekend so far and the best way to start my Spring Break! I'm sooo thankful for a little break! I'm still going to be playing catch up on here for the next few days...oh how I love to blog! :)

Happy weekend, y'all!

Shopping, Cupcakes, and the Lake

It all started last Friday afternoon. I left school in a hurry in hopes of finding a cute engagement gift for my brother and his future fiance. I went to three stores and everyone was out of what I wanted to get them. SO, Plan B. I got a market tote with their initial on it. Mama and I went on a mission on Saturday to fill the basket with some fun and meaningful goodies. We were just waiting on hearing from Billy to make sure that Miranda said yes! :) He took her on a breakfast picnic in a pecan grove in Valdosta. He made a scrapbook and when she got to the last page...he got down on one knee. I'm pretty sure that is when it started pouring! :)

Shortly after we talked to B and M, I drove us to Warner Robbins where we shopped until we were out of time because we still had to drive to Milledgeville for dinner. We only stopped for a quick lunch at Atlanta Bread. We got her a little notebook to keep in her purse for ideas or reminders, and it came in a pack of 3. So, mama and I each got one for ourselves too. :) We also picked up cupcakes. We got a chocolate one and vanilla one for Miranda and Billy, as well as two Italian wedding cake ones, since my Dad's side of the family is Italian. We got Daddy a carrot cake, Matty a cinnamon roll, and Mama and I shared cherry blossom (for the cherry blossom festival in Macon) and lemon ones. The lemon ended up being my favorite.

We wrapped the basket in the back seat of Daddy's truck on the way to Milledgeville. I also created a bowtie and veil for the cupcakes. We always wear the same jewelery when we're together!

Then we ate dinner at Jackson's Bar and Grill on Lake Sinclair, with the newly engaged couple, and Miranda's parents and grandparents.

We ended the night at the Turner's house so Miranda and Billy could open their gifts. It was a really great night!

I did want to add these two pictures. Daddy and Matty were not being very cooperative of me wanting to get pictures with them. So they will have to just put up with these. At lease I can count on Mama! :)

Sunday was fun too. We went to see The Hunger Games. I loved it...not as much as the book of course, but it followed very closely. I just kept whispering details to Matt since he was the only one who hadn't read the book. Daddy thought it was boring because he already knew what was going to happen. Then, we went to TJ Maxx and they had my beloved Tahari flats!!! They had them in red, navy, and tan. Oh joy! I got some black ones years ago at a TJ and wear them almost every day. My feet never hurt and they still haven't worn out! We also got some Easter hand towels and some eggs. I was sad to drive back home. I love family weekends.

We're thinking we might have an October 20th wedding. Mama has put me in charge of the rehearsal dinner! Lots of fun to come ahead for our family!

An Engagement, Easter Decorations, and Finishing James...

I have so much to blog about and so little time. I'm hoping that this week slows down soon. If not, I have Spring Break to look forward to in just 4 sweet days!!

My brother got engaged this weekend!!! I purposefully left out that small detail about my Saturday because he hadn't popped the question just yet!

I set out all my Easter decor and made one wreath. I have a sign that I want to work on, and a few things I'd like to add if I can find them.

We wrapped up James last Monday. I want to share some favorite things that I learned!Beth was preachin' it! Oooh...that makes me happy!

Have y'all heard Everlifting by Christy Nockels yet? I'm loving it this week!

Hope everyone is having a great week!
