Pumpkin Carving and Neighborhood Fun!

We finally got around to carving our almost rotten pumpkin this year. We sat on the front porch, carved it and passed out candy. We weren't overly motivated to carve it this year, and Matt ended up doing a pine tree. Ha! Then we went down the street to our friends house...they always have a Halloween get together...dinner, relaxing, and then the kids go out and trick-or-treat. We have the best neighborhood for trick-or-treating. You will go through so much candy! We enjoyed laughing with friends!

I'm thankful for a beautiful fall night!

Lights, Candy, Trick or Treat!

I already have every single light turned on in our house! And the candy is waiting by the door in a basket! Happy Halloween, Y'all!

I have tons of fall and pumpkin decorations that I keep up until Thanksgiving. I decided to take pictures of some of our Halloween decor before it comes down tomorrow.

Downtown, Fall Festival, Family, and Home Improvement!

I HEART my downtown! Mama and I spent Saturday out on the bricks, it is our 3rd annual Halloween Sale Shopping Day! :) I loved seeing the pink ribbons on the benches and the Plantation Wildlife Art Festival signs up! Seeing lots of my favorite store owners was a plus!

Oh! And seeing these too!

Matt and I worked a quick shift at our FBC's Fall Festival!

We went home and ate chili with our family! (Daddy and Bill were not thrilled with picture taking time, they ruined all the ones that I had of Mama too! :(...at least Miranda and Matty were nice.) Then Billy, Miranda, Matt and I went to get ice cream!

Then we got ready for a few home improvement projects thanks to Daddy!! EXCITING!

I am already looking forward to next weekend!

What a week!

I just about took a picture a day this week! I also found some random pictures on my iPhone that I never posted. So....pictures, pictures, pictures!

My week started out GREAT! I had the sweetest surprise waiting for me on Monday morning. I LOVE it! Bible Study was great as well, refreshing as always. Plus it was silly sock day. Kindergarten is so fun!

Wednesday I got to wear a hat to school. It is always a great day when you can throw your hair in a ponytail and hat! Somehow...I ended up in a mixture of camo, pearls, toms, and Dior perfume. HA!

We finally took our church directory pictures. They were so cheesy, but we did get one good one.

Thursday I about had a nervous breakdown (I'm just being honest) and that really doesn't happen all that often, especially lately. I was just soooo overwhelmed. It just hit me like a ton of bricks. Anyone that talked to me on that day knew that my mind was all over the place, because I literally couldn't even complete a sentence. I felt much better later that night after I was a good wife and cooked supper for Matt, I got some things checked off my to-do list, created a new spreadsheet of tasks that need to be done, and felt more in control of my emotions. Thank you, Jesus. :) I also love that my awesome hubby heard in my voice over the phone that I was going to need some extra moral support to get through the night! :)

Friday I was a leopard for Halloween. My VSU student was a zebra. Haha! :) We had a great day, and were exhausted after the festivities were over.

Now for the random pictures I found...

Yep, I made PINK cinnamon rolls for breakfast on the morning of Homecoming...in honor of October being breast cancer awareness month.

Carrie Beth working really hard on her admissions essay to earn her Specialist!! There is just something about that table and VSU schoolwork. I don't know what it is...but it helps her complete her assignments! :) I'll admit that I spent plenty of grad school nights with work spread out all over it too.

Hope y'all are enjoying a beautiful late October weekend! I know I am!!

Service Project and Yardwork

We had a good weekend! I attended Hands on Thomas County (HOTC) on Saturday morning. Organizations spread out all over our county and complete various service projects. This year, Junior Service League was assigned the TC Resource Center. We basically did a whole bunch of yardwork and a complete garden overhaul! Here are a few pictures of some of our girls working. Maybe I'll be able to get my hands on a copy of the group picture soon!

Well, that kind of put me in the mood to do a little landscaping on the side of our house. So, that is just what we did for the rest of the afternoon...after a picnic lunch outside. We had fun picking out what we wanted at the nursery, but then I think Matt was about ready to kill me for another one of my great ideas! Ha! :) Let's just say we were supposed to go out on a date and that didn't happen! Haha!

We enjoyed Sunday School and Church this morning...our Praise Team sang Shackles and it was AMAZING! I used to love to sing that song in college and the chorus was always so fun. Somehow, today the main lyrics stuck out to me. Or maybe I just have a different perspective now and have been through about 10 more years of "life experiences." Either way, I LOVE them and haven't been able to stop singing this song all day! I hate to say it but our Praise Team's version is waaaayy better than Mary Mary. :) Listen to the lyrics!!

Then we completed all of our planting. Now we just need to lay some pine straw and a finish a little area near our walkway. Yay! We did make time for a little Lost and rest this afternoon too. Matt even played disc golf with one of his friends and I had a roast waiting on him for supper. You see, I'm not a complete slave driver! :)

I am looking forward to Red Ribbon Week at school and all the fun Halloween Festivities this week and weekend!
