Two ladies that I LITERALLY DIE FOR...I've loved them both for years. Kelly Ripa was Rachel Zoe for Halloween!!! LOVE THIS CLIP!

Pumpkin Patch Disaster!
I volunteered to work the patch months ago...probably my first JSL meeting because you know I love pumpkins! Of course when Oct. 27 came around it was the rainiest day EVER. I made sure and called the Cultural Center (I have to have about 15 hours I think a year for league) to see if they were still having it. Of course, they said yes.
I ended up being the only person there working it. Only one person stopped by to get a pumpkin in the monsoon...and they ended up not getting one. And the tent filled up with water and collapsed. Luckily, I dodged the flood of water, and got to come home a little bit early!
Even wet, the pumpkins still looked pretty though...especially under all the oaks and spanish moss. I'll try again next year :)

Walking up to the CC in the dreary weather. We actually have our monthly meetings here.

I had to stand the entire time b/c the table and chairs were wet. I was trying to place the money and stickers in a spot where they wouldn't get wet.

You can sort of see the sagging tent about to collapse. Don't the pumpkins look pretty?

Rainy tennis courts.

And rainy playground. I was a little bit bored.

Leaving!!! Woo Hoo! :)
Changing the subject. This week has been crazy! CRAZY! Halloween week and Red Ribbon Week and a full moon in elementary school is INSANE!! It has felt long and I'm very ready for Friday! The weekend can't get here soon enough.
I think this is so cute: My kids are very obsessed with this one Halloween cd that I have. They LOVE Ghost Busters and Harry Potter. I had no idea that they even knew what those two movies were! But they are all about them. They also tell everybody that they pass that I have plum colored nails, they are not painted black. Wait to make me feel special and call attention to my nails. I feel like every one is thinking I painted them black for Halloween. They are OPI Lincoln Park After Dark and are a plum color that sort of look black/burgundy. I painted them for Cowboy Ball..not Halloween friends :)

This is the color. Although if you know me, I love a short black nail. :)

Growing up with The Home and Family Show.
The audio at the beginning is kind of scratchy, but it gets better.
The one show that can still bring tears to my eyes and fill my heart with so much joy....almost 10 years later.
If you know me well, you will sometimes hear me mention a memory, or you will know that my dog Ginger, is named after many of the amazing women on this show, The Home and Family Show.
It came on The Family Channel, before Fox Family, (that is when it went off the air...the company changed) M-F from 1-3pm. 2 hours during the most boring stretch of the day if you are home sick, or on summer vacation. I happened to see it one day while I was in middle school I think..maybe 8th grade and was hooked from them on. I taped it every single day and would watch it every night. I also never ever recorded over a single episode. My dad still teases me about my tapes. My entire family wathced it too though...Daddy, Mama, Billy, and G :) My Nanny too. In high school, I strategically planned orthodontist trips during the end of the day, so I could catch a few minutes of it LIVE. It was a LIVE show. I would be thrilled when dance would be cancelled or tennis...just so I could watch my "second family."
Anyway, this show taught me so much about life...really. All of the segments were so informative. To this day, I have knowledge that keeps people guessing how I know something...H and F. My favorite thing about the show was the opening segment and how all of the "family members" sat on the couch and interacted. I also loved how the hosts real children would come and just hang out on set, on camera, if they had a day off school. There were segments on health, beauty, exercise, cooking, gardening, celebrities, music..etc!
Watch this clip. It gives you an idea about how laid back the show was and how great it was. I would love to find one of the Hawaii epidsodes. They filmed for a few weeks in Hawaii...all their families went with them. I truly felt like I was on vacation there too! Ahhh, the memories :)
*Carrie...Candace, Kymmy, Mayita, and Cristina are all in this for sure!!
Oh and just watch the beginning of this next clip. Candance has a surprise for Cristina (who is wearing the necklace from the movie, Titanic)!!! You can tell how close everyone is. This was also when there was talk about the show going off the air.

Song of the week!
Who am I kidding...song of the night :) Then I'm finishing up a book I JUST checked out at the library, then going to bed..EARLY! I had a really good Monday, got a lot done this afternoon, and had a great meal for supper. I'm praying the rest of the week goes as smoothly.
This is my newest morning song. I listen over and over and over...you get the picture. It fits and it is still way dark when I am driving to work.
Oh, and Nanny Jane has a new nurse that comes over MWF. Nanny Jane really likes her, she is great. I am so thankful. What an answer to prayer for our entire family. I will finally get to go visit my sweet Nanny Jane in about a month! I pray that she continues to recover. And that she knows me when I get there!
May the Lord be praised! Day after day He bears our burdens; God is our salvation.
-Psalm 68:19

Cowboy Up!
And that song describes our fun time at Cowboy Ball!!
Love this song too! And there is nothing better than LIVE country music on a fall night! We really enjoyed "Just Us"!
Listen to the songs and watch the slideshow!

This and That Thursday!
This is what I found in my classroom this morning. My support teacher lives on a farm...so I requested decorating cotton :) and I wanted to put some in my Science area too. I was still surprised that she brought this much! I guess mama will get her wish and get some for her mantle!
I am not a fan of report cards. I love conferences, and I love collecting data, but I do not like writing report card comments...at ALL! My night:
Look at my mums! My friend, Robin, gave them to us as a housewarming gift when we first moved in 3 weeks ago! The blooms are getting bigger every day! I love them!
And these are the pumpkins that Matty got for us...we will be carving them soon! I'm excited! We actually took a field trip to a pumpkin patch today. It was perfect weather and so much fun :)

Blakely's Birthday, Work Ramblings, and Cowboy Ball!

So...yesterday was a very special day in our house. It was Blakely Whelan's birthday! :) She turned 3. We spoiled her rotten, but she deserved it! Every time we sang Happy
Birthday...she would run in the room and sit and wait for a new toy. Love my baby girl puppy!
I am EXHAUSTED as I type...I have been getting up at 4:30 for the past few days just to have time to fit all of my work in. I had my first formal observation today, which lasted 1.5 hours and went well I think....my post observation conference is Friday! My AP has never evaluated me before so I was extra nervous. Another cool thing is that my school decided to let the students submit a picture of healthy habits to use as the front of our Healthy Habits tshirts this year. My AP told me today that my little girl, Molly Grace, won!!!! I am so proud!

We have friends coming into town this weekend for The Cowboy Ball and I can't wait!!! I am also excited that they get to stay in our new house with us...more room is great! I hope that the weather is perfect out...it takes place on a local plantation! I'm ready to kick up my heels and enjoy the fall weather! I am really enjoying being a member of the Junior Service League. I am excited to share it with my grad girls!

I found this on google images. I didn't know that my fellow Tville League Members were famous :) The girls at Cowboy ball last year!

Worship and Twitter
2nd post of the night! I just don't like adding on to a post if it is a new topic :)
2 things:
This is one of my favorite songs that I listen to over and over b/c of the words and powerful message. I get pumped when listening, but it also makes me a little sad because I listened to it a lot the night Nanny Jane fell and hit her head...it's amazing how music triggers my memory..ALL the time!
I am on twitter now. I really like following Rachel Zoe...what can I say? But other than that I think I kind of like tweeting! Haha! I'm just sort of trying it out right now.

Taking a mental break!
A little down-time in between...working on lots of school stuff today. I just got motivated!
Do you have any pets? Two dogs. Blakely and Ginger Helen Jane :)
What is the last book you read? Love the one you're with. I'm usually always reading something!
What's your favorite sport? Women's swimming, diving, soccer, tennis, and gymnastics!!!!!!!!!I also enjoy College Football!
Do you enjoy sleeping late? I do love to sleep in sometimes because I can turn into a night owl on my breaks form work, but usually end up feeling like I wasted the day. I despise getting up in the 4:00am or 5:00am hour, like I always do. I think 7 or 8ish would be perfect!
What's the weather like right now? It's currently thundering, leaves are beginning to fall, and the air is getting cooler! I hear that the temp is supposed to drop in the morning!
Do you like your eggs scrambled or sunny side up? Scrambled.
Is your room messy? My entire house is a mess right now! We're still unpacking boxes!
What do you like better: oranges or apples? Apples, but I love OJ!
Are you a good guesser? I have really good intuition if that's what you mean.
Can you read other people's expressions? Most people.
Do you have a job? I am a kindergarten teacher. I love my 22 babies and all of my former babies with all of my heart. When I run into previous students that I taught, and they scream my name, run up to me, and act like they never left my class....it takes my breath away! I am very passionate about my kids and feel like a mama to them, or at least a good friend. 6 year olds don't act like they're 6 anymore that's for sure. I put a lot of time and energy into my job...sometimes too much and that can leave me sort of burned out sometimes. But there are a lot of days that I'm walking through the halls at school, and I stop, and think...I work here, I'm a teacher...I've made it past so many evaulations and tests...I have so many friends here...etc. And I can't believe all of God's blessings.
What time did you wake up this morning? 5:00am
What did you eat for breakfast this morning? Honey nut cheerios on the back porch.
What do you plan on doing tomorrow? Teaching all day, then taco night with my hubby and a dvd.
What's your favorite day of the week and why? Friday's and Saturday's! I love Sunday's if I don't have school the next day.
Do you have any nicknames? Nic, Nix, Mimi, Cole, and Mrs. Coco!
What's your least favorite color? Oh gosh, orangy yellow in t-shirts. I LOVE color, so that is hard.
Would you ever go skydiving? Never in a million years.
What toothpaste do you use? Crest!
Do you enjoy challenges? No.
What's the worst injury you have had? Elbow from a flip in gymnastics or shin splints from running springs in tennis all the time!
What's the last movie you saw? Idk..but I'll be watching The Proposal tomorrow night..I love that movie.
What is your dream vacation? L.A. or NY. Weird huh? I love fashion and celebs.
What is your favorite animal? Dogs.
Do you need to do laundry? I have a load in the washer now, and I have like 2 more to do tonight. Mostly blankets and sheets.
What color are your bed sheets? The ones on the bed and kind of caramel/mocha colored. We also have goldish ones.
How do you like your coffee? Creamer and Splenda
Do you watch cartoons? No, but I do like animated movies b/c my kids are into them.
Name three things in the world you dislike: Diseases and Illnesses (cancer, head injury's, loss of memory, strokes, etc.), Killers and Robbers, and Poverty.
Would you ever have plastic surgery? Maybe, Maybe not ;) No, Matt would never let me.
Name 10 things you'd like to accomplish within the next year:
Well, I don't know about within the next year or if I have 10 things but here is my list:
1. Start a family.
2. Furnish the rest of our house :)
3. Get Blakely a little golden sister, Keely!
4. Get my Specialist and maybe Doctorate.
5. Leave work early enough each day so that I have time to take Blakely on a long walk and start supper BEFORE Matt gets home from work!
6. Still be involved in our community, but go out of town more often to see family and friends.
7. Do something with my real love...fashion and buying for stores. In this sense I am my mother's daughter!
8. Be a host home for DNOW instead of transporting!
9. Take care of Nanny Jane...and Poppy Bill every chance that I get.
10. Convince my parents to move next door to me! :)
I think some of those goals might be accomplished sooner than later!
My Favorites:
Restaurant: Bonefish
Season: Fall and Winter (how I've changed)!
Type of weather: Cool and Breezy!
Emotion: Laughter
Color: Black, Brown, or Burnt Orange for clothes right now.
Candy: I'm not really a candy fan. Orbit gum I guess.
Fruit: Strawberries
Veggie: Brocolli
Dessert: Keylime Cake or Red Velvet Cake
Type of cake: Same as above
Magazine: Southern Living/all fashion mags.
TV Show: Desperate Housewives, Rachel Zoe Project, Tori and Dean, and Private Practice
Holiday: Christmas-time and every other holiday!
Sport to watch: Like I said earlier, basically all the women's sports I used to compete in!
Flower: Chrysanthumums and Tulips (again I've changed)!
Do you have any pets? Two dogs. Blakely and Ginger Helen Jane :)

Until the whole world hears...
Post 2 for the night :)
Yay Yay Yay!!!!! Guess who I get to see really soon????? My favorites!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yay Yay Yay!!!!! Guess who I get to see really soon????? My favorites!!!!!!!!!!!!
Almosts....and forgetfulness
I have been Mrs. Forgetful lately, with a capital F! I forget at least one important thing a day, only to remember late at night, or early the next morning and then look even more forgetful.
I had a really great League Meeting last night, and felt pretty on top of things...only to remember when I got there that I was supposed to bring cases of bud light for a social (which thankfully isn't for 2 weeks)! I did remember to bring my cans and my auction items though.
Then late last night, I remembered that I didn't pay for my Cowboy Ball tshirts...WHAT!? So, I had to rush to State Farm after school to give them to the girl that was taking them. On a side note...One lady that is in league, lives in my new subdivision, and also works at State Farm told me that she made us a carrot cake for a housewarming gift...but that her and her family ate it! Haha! Isn't that too funny?? She said she will be making us another one, but not to hold our breath :)

Looks good huh?? Maybe we'll get one soon :)
I also forgot to check my gmail...and had about a billion time changes for events I am supposed to volunteer at. So, I dutifully responded to them all...
I haven't sent my student planners home in two days, because I keep forgetting to write in them.
I forgot a meeting with my AP...luckily I redeemed myself and reschduled for later that day...but GOODNESS! This really isn't like me! And believe me, there are tons of other things that I've forgotten lately.
And to top it all off, I was really, really wanting a Sonic Vanilla Diet Coke at Happy Hour...but was 7 minutes late to it!

Changing the subject...
We are installing our mailbox tonight..finally! And I am skipping my weekly girl chat at church to rest and get ahead on some school stuff...lesson plans, newsletter etc. Just in cas I forget ;) I really love this rainy fall-like weather, and if I can find them in a box somewhere, I might just pull out Twilight and read a few chapters!

Fall Happenings!
Fall is here (just doesn't feel like it yet) and my Fall Break is slowly ending...which saddens me! We're still not totally unpacked, but we are organized...so that's good. We've been really busy this weekend. Matt's Dad and Ellen came to stay with us for one night! Then we spent some time in Titletown tailgating before Homecoming. We didn't actually even make it inside the stadium though :( We had a couples shower for our friends Jennifer (fellow grad girl) and her soon to be hubby Jeremy. And we finished cleaning out our Glenwood house and have had numerous visits from friends bringing little Housewarming gifts and just stopping by to peek inside our new home!
GO Blazers! Although Georgia lost to Tennessee this weekend, our Blazers pulled out a WIN!

On the way to The Highlands to Jennifer's shower!

November 21st will be here before we know it! :)

What I've done on my Fall Break:
Decorating and unpacking: Everyone knows about my obsession with pumpkins and Fall. So here are a few pics...

I've been reading The Womens Murder Mystery Books (taking it back to my first love of reading...a good series and a mystery)! James Patterson's books have me creeped out to say the least, but I can't put them down. I'm on book 6 in about 5 days!

Thoroughly enjoyed a caramel apple spice from Starbucks after a late night of Saturday festivities.

Matty surprised me with a new candle to burn...Harvest!

I did also squeeze in one movie night with hubby. Our only night that we weren't working on getting the house together. We ordered Beef O Brady's to go and ate and watched a movie we hadn't seen in the Bonus Room!

We're HOME!
I finally feel like things are coming together at our new house. We decided to wait on painting the guest, office, and dining room for now....but unpacking has been a huge chore! We stayed up really late last night b/c Matt is off today and I am too...and we finally at least got things a bit more organized. We are hoping for a productive day, then we can focus on the last two things that we need to organize. I will take on the Master Closet and Matt will handle the garage!
Only 2 things bother me about the new house..well make that 3.
1. We don't have blinds yet...SCARY at night, even if we are mostly surrounded by woods.
2. I have vowed not to hang anything up for a few weeks, because I really want to get a feel of what will look good where..and we don't have kitchen furniture or our new couch yet....so OI really can't hang things up in there.
3. NO TV until Thursday! I have missed Desperate, Rachel Zoe, and Biggest Loser this week. I will miss Glee tonight! SADNESS! :) Also, I would love to watch my morning shows since I'm off this week! Dang it, T Utilities!
Here is a sneak pic of what's going on in our new house.
P.S. I will be posting my fall decor later on! I have been reading all of these wonderful Fall posts and couldn't participate because my pumpkins were in boxes!

Welcome to the neighborhood!
We are homeowners in the friendliest subdivision ever! Finally! It was like a dream come true...or so Matt said :), as we drove into our little sub. today. We saw a dad and son playing golf in their yard, little girls on their bikes, elderly women in their yards, several groups of walkers, etc. You get the picture! As we were moving a few boxes in, a walker stopped to welcome us to the neighborhood.
We ate supper on the porch and right when we were finishing, my good friend, Robin, pulled up and came to look around. Then our realtor Kathy stopped by with bags of limelight goodies as house warming gifts! Then, my friend, Melissa B, who lives down the street came over to surprise me! We also went across the street and were welcomed by a couple and couple's parents that we have met once before! We feel so blessed and thankful! That is one thing about living in a small town, you don't tell anybody what your plans are or where you'll be...but they find you..ha! Just like Kathy said she was looking around Limelight trying to find us a few things and the owners told her that we had just been in and what we looked at...lol!

Here is a picture of me right before closing yesterday! Which by the way, did not go as planned, and we left without the keys. We did get to walk over to church and chat with our friends in beautiful Fall weather though, so that was fun!

Sweet surprises from Kathy!

Doesn't Blakely look pretty in the sunlight...so golden!! This was when we were about to drive over to the house with the keys for the first time. She was so excited!
