Around Downtown and Dillon

You know I love my downtown. I love the atmosphere. I love the stores. I love the owners. I love the feeling I get when I'm there. I love each season downtown too. Basically, downtown Thomasville could be described as a passion of mine. Sad I know, but true!

I took some pictures of what you can find down there this summer. Just in case anyone happens to take a trip through the deep south on the way to the beach.

Now, my mama is currently on her way to visit for the next few days and she loves downtown as much as I do, as well as cute little shops in other surrounding small towns. So stay tuned...I'm sure I'll have lots of other cute things to feature! Just wish I could get them all! :)

And about Dillon, I just finished watching Season 4 of FNL...the best show I have ever seen in my life. Watching it is equivalent to reading a Karen Kingsbury book in my eyes. You laugh, cry, and usually learn how to be a better person after each episode. :) Dillon reminds me of the town I grew up in. There are so many similarities. I NEED to watch the fifth and final season soon. Y'all, I just really love this show. And Tami Taylor....counselor, principal, coaches wife and just all around great lady, is still my favorite! I hope she doesn't let me down in season 5. Yes, I know she's not real, but she just seems like she is!

Monday Must Haves

Things I think are really great these days.

My Clinique tinted mosturizer.

These awesome books. My lastest two from the library. I'm about ready for some more to come in.

Totes in general. You know I'm a tote girl, and I have lots more. These are just a few that I need to bring upstairs. Does anybody else stack things on the stairs in hopes that someone else will bring them up? :)

Sudzz Blowout.

Not a fan. My church just started this series on Sunday nights. Instead of our normal service, we watch a video (it is like a movie) and then break into groups all around our sanctuary and answer some really in-depth questions. In our group last night we were very real in our answers...there were even tears. This is a devotional that you can do during the week if you want. It is AWESOME so far!

Have a great Monday y'all!

My favorite place to relax...

would be the JMarie Salon and Day Spa in Jamestowne at Madison Grove. I walk in and instantly feel relaxed. I don't know if it is the Christian music playing, the people, or all the OPI/hair products that I love..haha! I just know that I really like going in there. Now woudln't it be nice if I could get a facial/haircut/manicure/pedicure every month??? :)

5 years...

ago about this time we were riding off on a golf cart from the Dublin Country Club as husband and wife! I remember sparklers, happy tears, magnolia leaves, champagne and pink, monograms and bows, laughter, golf balls, bon bons, precious songs, all of our families, our dearest friends, seersucker, and excitment!!

Yes, on June 24, 2006 around 5pm, I married my best friend and love of my life! My how time flies!

Happy anniversary Matty, I love you!

The Simple Things

I saw this on Jesslyn Amber's blog and decided to come up with a list of my own.

Being home during a summer thunderstorm, with all the lamps on in the house.
Watching Friday Night Lights.
Laying on a float in a pool.
Hawaii Snow Shaved Ice.
Spending time browsing through our downtown shops.
Lunches with friends around town.
That Matt is so happy with his new job.
Checking the mail each afternoon.
Going to the library to pick up my next stack of already pulled books at the front counter.
Seeing so many neighbors and kids playing outside in their yards each evening.
Hydrangeas.
Streets that are covered in oak trees and spanish moss.
Listening to our church choir sing.
Having a clean house.
Hearing encouraging verses and applying them.
The overall lazy feeling of summer. Late nights, cook outs, fresh fruit and veggies, tan lines, and the crisp color white.

I love a June Wedding!

I really love a wedding in every season, but I guess since I got married in June, summer weddings are my favorites! Lynn and I have very similar tastes, so I loved everything about her special day. My heart is full from a great weekend!

Friday I drove to Douglas for the bridesmaids luncheon. I loved seeing the blushing bride to be, all of her friends, and another of my great friends that I hadn't seen in awhile.

After the luncheon, Amanda and I went to the hotel and checked in (a first for both of us) and just rested and caught up. I had some goodies for her baby, Ella, too! Then we went up to the church and helped Lynn, Claran, Candice, and Jenn with flowers. Although, they pretty much had it under control. It started pouring rain and we didn't have umbrellas...so we improvised, Mandy and I went a cute shop to pick up Lynn's practice bouquet and some gifts, then went back to the hotel to get ready for the rehearsal.

The rehearsal and rehearsal dinner went smoothly. Matt got there just in time. I also got to hang out with Amanda's sister, Rebecca. It was a fun night full of laughter! It was quite stormy in Douglas, but we were thankful for the rain.

Saturday I got up bright and early and got my hair done. Then all of the girls hung out in Lynn's room while she got her hair done. That was one of my favorite times of the wedding. We just snacked, layed around, and laughed.

Then we headed out to lunch and then to the church to get ready and take pictures. Before we knew it it was time for Lynn to marry Jason!

We rode in a hummer limo to the Douglas Golf and Country Club. Took some pictures on the golf course. Then enjoyed the reception!
