A favorite, Bible Study, PINK chips, Roses, Blue, and More!

Get ready for a random post. :)

This song...the words in it are so special to me these days. Christy actually sang it in Dothan and it happens to be one of my favoirte Tomlin songs because of the words, but I fell completely in love with her singing it. I was so upset that I didn't get it on video..then I found this from a few days ago on YouTube. Please listen, it is so GOOD!

I haven't been blogging much, so I have to play catch up. What a week! Fall is just such a busy time at school and around the community, but I LOVE it! Plus, Matt has been very sick this week so we've been going to bed really early. All of the shows we watch were amazing this week too, so we've been tryng to keep up with them on Hulu. Private Practice, Parenthood, and Nashville are our top 3!! We still haven't watched the Pretty Little Liars Halloween Special either!

I started a new Bible Study at church on Wednesday night...there about 15-20 young women in it. The book we are reading is Can I Get a Do-Over? The Grace of Second Chances. I am enjoying it so far.

You know my love for Barberito's salsa and my support for breast cancer means that I couldn't pass up PINK chips this past Thursday.

Grassroots served us free coffee at school on Friday morning. What a yummy treat!

It is really starting to feel like Fall, but my roses are blooming likes it's Spring. Matty picked me one on Friday afternoon when I was trying to get my mums to come back to life. This is the first weekend in three weeks that I've been home and the weeks in between have been so crazy that I've totally neglected all of my flowers. :(

Blue. I'm obsessed with blue things. Have y'all seen the blue and white buffalo check chairs on Nashville in Rayna's house? I am IN LOVE! I couldn't find a picture to show you. We got this blue shutter lantern on clearance at HomeGoods this morning. Matt actually found it. I can't wait for it to get dark so I can light the candle in it!

I am so ready to read Karen Kingsbury's new book, The Bridge. Soon, I hope!

Ok, back to working on some projects, watching the GA/FL game, and laundry. What a glorious Saturday! :)

Our Birthday Pup

Blakely turned 6 years old on Saturday. In the middle of wedding chaos we were able to spoil our angel puppy just a little bit. We love her so much, she is the sweetest dog.

My FAVORITE night EVER!

Last Wednesday in Dothan, Alabama I was sitting literally RIGHT in front of Christy Nockels enjoying an amazing night of Worship. Matt picked me up right after school and we arrived at FBC Dothan around 4:30pm. We were the first ones in the sanctuary and chose to sit in the second row. I needed a pew to lean on! Ha! Can you see the excitement on our faces?

The concert started at 6 and while we were waiting we met some new friends. They were the sweetest Christy Nockels fans...most fans since Watermark. I loved learning about them and their lives. We sat with a couple that have been married for about 10 years...she teaches kindergarten and her husband is in the medical industry. Pretty cool! The couple in front of us described how they lost their daughter at birth and Christy's songs helped her get through that time. She has since had another little girl and she named her Elliana, just like Christy's daughter, which means God has answered. Don't you just love that? Her two boys were lovingly teasing her for loving Christy so much. It was precious! And seeing those boys worship and love being there with their mom was the sweetest thing. It made me want to have a little boy that love Christy and Nathan's music one day too! :)

I've obviously heard her sing live before, but never really just her for so long. I LOVED the atmosphere...it was cozy and you could just feel the Holy Spirit. POWERFUL! Christy joked that she loved this size crowd the best and may sing for 2 hours. Yep, she pretty much did!!! And we were still so sad when it was over.

Her voice was OUTSTANDING and FLAWLESS. So much more beautiful in person...and I don't know how that is possible but it is. Ask Matt.

Her words were so encouraging. She is such a Godly, wise leader. The prayers that she prayed and the way that she led us in Worship were so "uplifting" and refreshing! :) I'd truly give anything for her to be my mentor.

Since Nathan was playing the keyboard, they did a Watermark throwback which we adored. More than you'll ever know has always, always, always been a favorite of mine. I had no idea that she wrote this song after her miscarriages about sweet friends that were there for them and would just come over and bring them ice cream. Not to mention lift them up in prayer constantly. Sounds pretty familiar.

She actually opened and closed with my guesses. Here is what she sang:

Ever Lifting
Into Marvelous Light
Our God
Wait Upon the Lord
Choose
Waiting Here for You
Healing is in Your Hands
Be Loved
How I Love You
You Revive Me

A Mighty Fortress

I wish we could've stayed and talked with her, but we both had huge days the next day and just couldn't afford to get home any later. SAD! But we seriously had the best night ever and I feel so blessed to have known about it and been a part of it. The Lord used her to give my heart a peace and to open my eyes to some new lyrics that have already become my prayer. The words from Choose and A Mighty Fortress, both which I've listened to a million times, but got something new and fresh from them when they were sung right in front of me. I'm thankful and forever changed...yet again. :)

Around our house and EXCITEMENT!

I cleared off all the pictures on my phone and thought that I'd share some of my current favorites in our home (You know it could change tomorrow...I'm constantly moving things around).

I've had a busy day. Work was great, then I had a quick appointment after school, ran by Loli's to get the last wedding item that I needed off of my list, scarfed down supper at home, then attended a JSL general meeting. Whew!

But what I'm really excited about is happening tomorrow! Guess who has the best husband in the world? And guess who he is taking me to see??

My very favorite...CHRISTY NOCKELS! I cannot contain my excitement! I've been screaming about it since I found this out! You won't be able to wipe the smile off my face tomorrow! :)

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

Did you know that October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day? It is a day of remembrance for pregnancy loss and and infant death, which includes but is not limited to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, or the death of a newborn. I wanted to do something special, and we decided to release pink and blue balloons. (I didn't really think what people might think seeing Matt leave Publix with the balloons...oops!) :) It was really windy when we released them and they actually got caught in a really tall tree in the woods. We think that it is absolutely hilarious that we have pink and blue balloons flying above our house tonight. We seriously laughed forever about it! It is a special memory and we are definitely promoting awareness about pregnancy and infant loss!

In all seriousness, May 5th- May 8th was one of the hardest weeks of our lives. However, we are so much stronger now. We are closer than ever. And believe it or not, some beautiful frienships and blessings have come from the trial and pain of our miscarriage. The Lord is our everything and He gives us strength. We serve such a faithful God!

I had a great final day of Fall Break. I was up bright and early. I went to Publix, my school, and had Taco Soup in the crockpot before 9:30am. I also worked on report cards. I love productive days at home!

Bible Study was pretty amazing tonight. Tonight's lesson from my beloved Beth Moore was about work. What a great lesson for me to hear...praying that I'll be energized and refreshed tomorrow! It was also my week to help with dinner, so that is always fun!

Hope everyone had a fabulous fall Monday!

Full Days

Even though I have been out on a break, our days have been soooo busy! My days were filled with appointments and errands, and we spent our nights working on wedding projects...and watching our shows of course. :) Ummm, I'm IN LOVE with Nashville!!! Tami Taylor is my favorite! We squeezed in several fun dates too!

Friday night we went to dinner with our friends, Mindy and Eugene, before the Jackets game!! I snapped this picture of Mindy getting a little golf in at the Whelan driving range before we left. :) After the game we came back to our house, ate ice cream, and watched a movie. They were kids free for the weekend, so they left just at midnight. A few weeks ago they stayed over until after 2am when their kids were at the beach with family. We're wild I tell ya! Haha! I love our time with them!

Saturday morning we left bright and early and drove to Dublin. My brother and Miranda get married in LESS than a WEEK! Eeeeeek! We had Miranda's shower at a camphouse with mama's friends. Then, Miranda, Mama, and I went to Warner Robins and picked up a few last minute wedding stuff at Hobby Lobby.

I loved getting to see great friends of our family that I haven't seen in a long while. Some since my wedding 6 and 1/2 years ago. Mrs. Cheryl (our next door neighbor) popped in our side door to chat and I had a flashback...she used to do the same thing 20 years ago. Time flies, but some things never change. I am so thankful for my childhood home and all of the wonderful memories that were made there. We were the luckiest kids alive to have the best parents, and sweetest community to grow up in. I love all the new memories that we are making too. Like us all working together working on the wedding and Matt playing the guitar while we worked, family movie nights, and when we are all home and play our silly games in my room upstairs. :) We're only missing Ginger.

We worked all day today on rehearsal dinner decorations. The dining room in my parents house looks like Fall exploded. I LOVE it! I think we are basically ready. I'm very excited!

I am gearing myself up for probably the busiest week that I've ever had. And that isn't even including wedding prep. I may need prayer to make it! ;) Seriously, I am counting down the days until I get to see all of my family and we have two days of parties!!
