17 week appointment!

This was the first appointment since MC was a tiny newborn that I've had to bring her with me. She came with me over Spring Break for bloodwork, but there was always an extra person in the lab that would hold her. I knew she would love coming! But was worried she wouldn't want me to lay on the table without holding her, or "I want to hold you" as she says!

She fell asleep as soon as I picked her up from camp, so instead of driving home, laying her down, and then having to wake her back up, I just parked at Shaw and let her get in an hour and 1/2 nap before I woke her up. She did great in the waiting room, in the "potty", and during vitals. While we waited on my Dr she had her snack. As soon as my Dr walked in she named off the brand of Molly Carolinws outfit. You know only I can appreciate that quality in a person! :)

Molly Caroline just skipped around the room while we listened to the heart. The baby was extremely active and it took forever to finally hear that it was 159. We would hear it, then it would move. Over and over. My Dr called it a bad baby, and said that all of the babies she saw today were being difficult and bad. I had to laugh because everyone tells me that because Molly Caroline is so good and easy, that this baby will be a handful. :) I looked back at MC's heartrate was also 159 at 17 weeks. So I still think girl?!

My sweet Dr spent some time talking to MC about the baby and showing her where it was, etc. She loved talking to "Dr Barbara" and even called her that! It was precious! A little later, I was waiting to get my blood drawn, and my Dr walked by, she asked MC if she wanted to come with her. Of course MC said "uh huh" and off they went to her office. I couldn't see them but I could hear them. She asked MC if she wanted to listen to her heart. My Dr said when she got out her stethoscope and gave it to MC, her eyes got big and she said no! Haha MC plays with her own stethoscope all the time at home, but always screams when they even get it out at the ped center. It was a sweet memory.

And we set up the anatomy scan and gender ultrasound. I'll be 21 weeks and cannot wait!

Five on Friday!

1. Matt and I celebrated 9 years of wedded bliss on June 24th! It was a busy day and since we just got back from a week at the beach we kept it low key. We had a breakfast date, just the two of us, while MC was at camp.

2. I started a new Bible Study this week!! I haven't been in a group study since I was pregnant with MC. I'm enjoying it so far! And we met at GrassRoots last week!  Decaf-Yum!

3. Molly Caroline had her first camp this week! I was so proud of her! She did really well and loved it!

4. We had a girls night out Saturday, while the guys fished and after Jonah's we made these date night books! We planned one a month and stuck them in envelopes! I planned some fun ones, and I know Matt will think it's fun to have a surprise at home date once a month!

5. I love mail. Getting the mail is seriously a highlight of my summer days! Molly Caroline got a sweet gift in the mail and my Groove Book came last week!

22-24 month favorites!

Bubble Mower and Bubbles. I guess it's because we're constantly out in the yard. She got it for her birthday last year but is really loving it now. And bubbles keep her  very busy!

Swing!!!! She would ask to swing all day, everyday for a while.

Chalk, paint, and coloring! It's always a hit and she asks to paint often!

Baby Pool. She loves her "poo" and will get in clothes and all.

Golf Clubs. You can find her with one in her hand often.

Bla Bla Mermaids. She started sleeping with Eleanor every night and now sleeps with Gretchen also.

Barney! I guess she started watching this at daycare. She loves to sing and dance with it and asks to watch it daily.

Cars! She loves playing vroom vroom and beep beep! She also loves to point them out while we're driving places.

Accessories! Sunglasses, hats, and shoes! Always has them out and on.

Aden and Anais Blankets. They used to be our favorite, when we swaddled her. Now she has to have a "blanket" and it has to be one of those!

Nuk Pacis. She's more obsessed than ever and asks for a "paci" often! We've limited her to in the crib and in the car seat on long rides for now.

BIG NEWS!

Molly Caroline's big news!

We were actually hoping with all of our hearts that we would have a little holiday baby. I just never really thought that would happen, because of course, it's a process with us. A lot of people that I know were having fall babies at work, and so when I went home one afternoon with a stomach bug, everyone that I passed said, maybe you're pregnant. This was on TUESDAY, March 24th. I knew that I was just sick though, and that it was too early to know if I was pregnant. I planned to take a test that Friday.

After I was feeling better, I decided to go ahead and take a test anyway. Matt had recently come home with a variety of kinds, so the "serious" pregnant/not pregnant ones were jumping out at me. When I saw the word pregnant show up, I was thrilled...and barely 3 weeks pregnant! Kind of cheesy, but I wanted to do something little to tell Matt, but couldn't really go anywhere to buy anything because I was sick. That night at supper, while Matt was washing up, I wrote on a chalkboard above Molly Caroline's high chair, "Somebunny is going to be a big sister! December 2015. He noticed the sign right away and couldn't believe it himself!! We had the sweetest family celebration at supper that night!

The next day I called the Shaw Center to make my confirmation appointment, and was surprised that they said they would see me at the end of April, 7 or so weeks away. I dwelled on that for a day or two, then I decided to text my Dr....just to at least tell her that I was pregnant and when my appointment was. She knew I was excited but also nervous, and immediately said, "I'll handle it. I'll have my nurse call you in the morning to set up quants." So the next day I had appointments for blood work every few days over Spring Break. Do you know how thankful I am for her?

My first appointment at Shaw for bloodwork was special. I had Molly Caroline with me, because it was Spring Break. I think that Ashley, Kristen, Kaitlyn, Deborah, Angie, and Davelyn all got to hold or play with my precious girl! It seems like yesterday that they were all so thrilled that I was pregnant with her. We got to see "Dr Barbara" as Molly Caroline says oh so cutely too!

All of my numbers were rising like they should've, so Sam called me and said we could schedule an ultrasound. This was around 6 weeks. I was sooo nervous and I think Matt was too! We were thankful to have a confirmed due date, and most of all see and hear the baby and the flickering heart beat.

The next week I had my "new OB" appointment with Ashley. I made her cry, talking about how much I enjoyed being pregnant with MC, how I decided not to have a c-section and deliver naturally. And how great I felt immediately afterwards (and while pushing). She said she never heats happy stories like that anymore. Anyway, she was sweet.

Then the next week, my first real appointment with my doctor. :)

Since then, I've had a normal 13 week appointment. She found the heart beat immediately with the Doppler and it was 169. We both laughed! It's such a special time! Molly Caroline's was 167 at 13 weeks, which is making me think I'm having another girl! :) we should find out on about a month! I got stuck in my hands, wrists, probably 6 places this time. Good think needles don't bother me at all! :)

I'm 15 weeks now and feeling good! Thankfully, just like with Molly Caroline, I haven't been sick at all. I was extra tired at the end of the school year...but didn't know if it was the pregnancy, teaching kindergarten, or running after an almost two year old. :)

So now, I'm just enjoying summer, resting when I can, and praying for a healthy baby and pregnancy.

party prep, pjs, and peonies!

This past week was Molly Caroline's birthday week, so we were busy celebrating and throwing a golf party! I'll be playing catch up soon.

Party Prep-MC was involved in everything! I even found her milk in the beverage tub!

It's that time! We ordered Christmas jammies this week!

And I got the most beautiful peonies ever, from the best hubs ever! I was so surprised! They looked just like the ones he surprised me with in the hospital the day MC was born, even the vase was similar! I'm so thankful for him!
