Molly Caroline's big news!
We were actually hoping with all of our hearts that we would have a little holiday baby. I just never really thought that would happen, because of course, it's a process with us. A lot of people that I know were having fall babies at work, and so when I went home one afternoon with a stomach bug, everyone that I passed said, maybe you're pregnant. This was on TUESDAY, March 24th. I knew that I was just sick though, and that it was too early to know if I was pregnant. I planned to take a test that Friday.
After I was feeling better, I decided to go ahead and take a test anyway. Matt had recently come home with a variety of kinds, so the "serious" pregnant/not pregnant ones were jumping out at me. When I saw the word pregnant show up, I was thrilled...and barely 3 weeks pregnant! Kind of cheesy, but I wanted to do something little to tell Matt, but couldn't really go anywhere to buy anything because I was sick. That night at supper, while Matt was washing up, I wrote on a chalkboard above Molly Caroline's high chair, "Somebunny is going to be a big sister! December 2015. He noticed the sign right away and couldn't believe it himself!! We had the sweetest family celebration at supper that night!

The next day I called the Shaw Center to make my confirmation appointment, and was surprised that they said they would see me at the end of April, 7 or so weeks away. I dwelled on that for a day or two, then I decided to text my Dr....just to at least tell her that I was pregnant and when my appointment was. She knew I was excited but also nervous, and immediately said, "I'll handle it. I'll have my nurse call you in the morning to set up quants." So the next day I had appointments for blood work every few days over Spring Break. Do you know how thankful I am for her?
My first appointment at Shaw for bloodwork was special. I had Molly Caroline with me, because it was Spring Break. I think that Ashley, Kristen, Kaitlyn, Deborah, Angie, and Davelyn all got to hold or play with my precious girl! It seems like yesterday that they were all so thrilled that I was pregnant with her. We got to see "Dr Barbara" as Molly Caroline says oh so cutely too!
All of my numbers were rising like they should've, so Sam called me and said we could schedule an ultrasound. This was around 6 weeks. I was sooo nervous and I think Matt was too! We were thankful to have a confirmed due date, and most of all see and hear the baby and the flickering heart beat.
The next week I had my "new OB" appointment with Ashley. I made her cry, talking about how much I enjoyed being pregnant with MC, how I decided not to have a c-section and deliver naturally. And how great I felt immediately afterwards (and while pushing). She said she never heats happy stories like that anymore. Anyway, she was sweet.
Then the next week, my first real appointment with my doctor. :)
Since then, I've had a normal 13 week appointment. She found the heart beat immediately with the Doppler and it was 169. We both laughed! It's such a special time! Molly Caroline's was 167 at 13 weeks, which is making me think I'm having another girl! :) we should find out on about a month! I got stuck in my hands, wrists, probably 6 places this time. Good think needles don't bother me at all! :)
I'm 15 weeks now and feeling good! Thankfully, just like with Molly Caroline, I haven't been sick at all. I was extra tired at the end of the school year...but didn't know if it was the pregnancy, teaching kindergarten, or running after an almost two year old. :)
So now, I'm just enjoying summer, resting when I can, and praying for a healthy baby and pregnancy.
