OJ anyone?

I have been CRAVING this beverage for four days now! Well, ever since I've felt sick. I must mention it to my mom EVERY time I talk to her on the phone. I also tell Matt over and over. Even though it is cold, cold, cold out tonight, I'm feeling a little better...so I think I'm going to venture out to Publix and grab a bottle of it! Yum! Hopefully, then I can get it off my mind! :)

Happy Birthday to my sweet Matty!

Matty turned the big 2-7 this year! WOW! I'm a little late with this post, but seeing as I've been sick...you know how that goes. Here are some pictures of the birthday boy!


He requested red velvet cupcakes...he LOVES pecans! Anyway I got the recipie from my favorite blog, Kelly's Korner. They turned out great!

The one thing our house is missing is an office. In our new house, Matt's office will be decorated in a southern/plantation theme! Thus, his favorite present...a plantation hunting dog. Looks just like Blakely to him ;)

Kiss me, I'm IRISH!

Well, I'm part Irish, but I have tons of IRISH pride!! I'm a proud alumni of DHS...Home of the Fighting Irish, and my hometown is Dublin...GREEN and growing, where shamrocks are painted throughout the street and the month of March is a month of celebrations!! Also, every man in Dublin owns a kelley green blazer...lol!


Please excuse the dust! I dusted under the chair immediately after seeing this picture...gross!


We had freezing temps down here in SGA! Brrr. These socks helped keep my toes warm!


Now, we may not have a snow day tomorrow...but look how pretty the oaks are here...swaying in the breeze because of the gusty cold winds!

OMG...sick again!

I can't believe it! I'm hoping that tomorrow, the first day in March, brings a healthy wife to our house! I almost made it through my crazy, busy, stressful week, but had to miss school Friday due to the stomach bug again/flu! I still feel very bad, and I'm actually beginning to go a little bit stir crazy. We have had HORRIBLE weather here in Georgia, with lots of tornados too. SCARY! I've been cleaning up around the house hosue today and it has literally taken me ALL day because I am so weak..haha! I thought I'd share the books that I've recently finished or am reading right now....since that is about all I'm able to do.

Wooden Nickel Pub

It was our favorite place to hang out and eat in college. They closed down for awhile then reopened at two new locations. Well, we ate their tonight for Matt's pre-birthday celebration (because camel riders and cherry coke are his favorite) and these sayings were so cute to me.

It really is a Valdosta tradition.


It's funny to me because everyone was mad when they changed things up a bit...but the legend does live on :)

We're enjoying our weekend. Lot of relaxation going on...as I'm trying to get better.

Sick Day

I've had a sore throat for a few days so I decided to take a trip to the much dreaded Dr. Well, I was right...Strep. I've been numbing the pain with tylenol severe cold every three hours for a while now. I was proud of myself for going to the doctor, getting my prescription filled, calling my school to find a sub for tomorrow, and cancelling several meetings at school. I even had to email my grad professor and let him know that I was very contagious and that I would not be in class tonight. I found out that I made an A on my first Ed Psych test though!!! YEAH! I am usually not this independent and CANNOT stop going, going, going! I have trouble saying no and backing down from responsibilities...sick or not!

While I was waiting for my meds at CVS I picked out two new nail polish colors for spring. I got Orange you Cute? and Made you Blush (my new fav)!! I really like Sally Hansen: Salon Nail Lacquer. OPI is still my favorite, but hey..this stuff is cheap!

I am kind of glad that I get to stay home and catch up on some things at home in pjs all day tomorrow. I never have time to myself.

However, I almost had a breakdown, when I realized how much pain I was going to be in after my tylenol severe cold wore off and I figured out that you can't mix it and penicillin. Luckily, Matt called the Dr. and he let me take advil to help my sore throat...thank goodness. I was able to sleep for a few hours. I didn't even think of asking the Dr. about a pain reliever when I was at the Doctors office.


I will be taking this 3 times a day for a while!

I am already missing my kids...sad I know. I've been texting my support teacher to find out about how their day is going :) What can I say? I'm devoted to my job!!! But tomorrow, I'm going to enjoy my sick day...guilt free!

Happy Heart Day!

We finally did it! After 6 failed Valentine's Days...we had the best heart day ever! :) Really, the holiday of love has been jinxed for us and we didn't know if we would ever redeem ourselves and our failed attempts to make the holiday work for us!

Let me tell you about our day...

Since we save every penny that we make, we have been going without many things for awhile now. We decided not to give each other any big gifts this year, but decided to get a few things for our house. Blakely got a cute pink puppy for her Valentine's gift and she loves it! So we slept in and headed downtown to SHOP! We had the best time and since my dream is to be a personal shopper (I know what every store in town has, where the best deals are, and if I can make it for cheaper) we got lots of clearance purchases and good deals! Yay! I gave Matt a Golden Retreiver hat from one of our favorite stores, Staffords. He gave me two pairs of tortoise hoops from another one of our favorite stores, Firefly. I love my hoops and will probably be giving them for gifts this year, as they are the most popular item in Firefly.

We met Matt's dad for lunch at The Scoop, then drove around and showed him the lot that we are looking at.

We went to my FAVORITE store, Fireballs, where we talked to our good friend Laura for a long time (she is the owner)!! Then we came home and relaxed for awhile before we got ready for our date to BoneFish Grill! We got right in (b/c we had reservations a month in advance) and it was soooo good! Then we ran to the bookstore and still made it home by 10pm. WHAT A FUN DAY! I am so thakful for my husband! I love him sooo much!
