The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

Twilight fans!! Are y'all reading this? You can read this short eclipse novella for FREE on www.breetanner.com. I started it yesterday and can't wait to finish it today. Apparently, it is supposed to explain a lot of things about newborns that Bella never knew. I'm excited about this!!! And just in time to get sucked back into the Twilight world, before the movie Eclipse comes out!!

Headed to the island!

Wow! 2 posts before lunchtime! Computer time beats lying in bed.

We headed down to Merritt Island, FL on Friday afternoon to visit my grandparents. Merritt Island is just over the bridge from Cocoa Beach where there is the cute, Cocoa Village. It is surrounded by the Banana River and the Indian River.

Island bound!

Here are some pictures of our way down. The St. Augustine outlet mall was calling my name :). We did stop in Palm Coast for supper.

We were so glad to be there, that I didn't even think to take any pictures until the next morning. Saturday, we spent some time running around to several nurseries to find flowers and then relaxed by my grandparent's pool for a bit. My brother and Miranda went to the beach.

Some of my family after singing Happy Birthday to Nanny Jane while she drank her coffee and ate breakfast!

If you walk into my grandparents house, you will most likely hear music...loud music blasting through the speakers or live music. Poppy Bill was practicing (he plays in shows with a band on the island) and I couldn't resist taking his picture. :)

Pictures of the big party coming soon (probably later today)! I am so glad that we were able to go!

Ladies Night Out!

We saw this! The first one was better, of course. But I love the women in the movie and their awesome friendship, so it was still great to me.

We went to the 10:00pm show. We met up at Ruby Tuesday before the movie. It is a little tradition that we have. We were the only ones in the theater for a while, so we took pictures and were loud and crazy! We never could get a good picture of the 3 of us, but here are our attempts! Haha!

The movie didn't get out until almost 1am. I think Becky and I were delirious driving home. I remember explaining to her that I thought the sequel seemed more down to earth, it focused on real problems or issues that everyone faces, like the inbetween stage in marriage...somewhere between being newlyweds and parents. How hard motherhood can be. Getting older. Being a workaholic. I LOVED that aspect of the movie! I could really relate to it.

Matt and snapped a pic before I left, and then one when I got home, b/c guess who was waiting up for me when I got home? My loving husband!

LeAnn, if you are reading this, know that we missed you!!

Medical Mayhem

That is what Matt calls our recent medical visits and expenses. I was supposed to be teaching VBS today. My room was all ready and everything was prepared and set out just so. But instead, I called into the Dr. for a strep test this morning...and it was positive. So, I'm here at home...half the time freezing with a fever, the other half of the time sweating to death. I will have to miss all the fun at Saddle Ridge Ranch tomorrow too. I'm hoping to be back in action on Wednesday. It will be weird just meeting my kids for the first time in the middle of the week. Bless my helper's heart. She did not know what she was in for when she got paired with me. I hope that her day went smoothly. I tried to stay up at church this morning to go over the material with her, but a teacher in the room next door sprayed me with lysol and there were several other severe germ freaks urging me to go home. I'm very thankful for my Matty, he picked up the girls for me, got them lunch, and dropped them off at the Y. He will probably be taking them tomorrow too.

The funny thing is that I just went to the Dr. on Wednesday and Thursday of last week. I'm praising the Lord, because all of my bloodwork came back great and my liver and kidney function are fine. Earlier in May, all of the tests and x-rays came back fine as well. So, we're ruling things out and I'm hoping to be feeling better soon!

Here is a picture of us last week when we got good news from my doctor!

I am working on some catch up posts...Sex and the City with the girls, our trip to Merritt Island, FL for my Nanny Jane's 81st bday, and some other happenings too.

Job 23:10
But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.

I love this song.

I can't get this song out of my head. It is so sad, but has such powerful, true lyrics to me.

Deuteronomy 31:8 (The Message).
God is striding ahead of you. He's right there with you. He won't let you down; he won't leave you. Don't be intimidated. Don't worry.

Psalm 91:2
This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.

Typical Summer Day

I spent yesterday at the church, getting ready for VBS, then went to lunch with my friend, Robin, at The Scoop (they have the best chicken salad, and I'm not really a chicken salad fan). We came back to my house and had fun chatting for a long time...so it was a fun day.

But today has been great too! I was able to sleep past 8:00. First time all summer, I guess I'm still on teacher time. Set some steaks out.

Finally framed these two pictures I printed from the computer. How cute are they?

I ran by the Dr. for a minute, then went to lunch with Matt at Subway downtown. It was raining and cozy in the little corner location.

We stopped in Firefly to pick up a little surprise for my mama, and Matt ended up picking out a little something for me to get too. He showed it to me, I tried it on, and loved it. He said it is a get well gift, because I've been feeling so sick lately. We're both ready for me to feel normal again. I love it! He also said, "Nature's finest cocktail ring." I thought it was funny! After lunch,I ran into another favorite, The Limelight, to try to see a friend and catch up, but she wasn't working.

So, I went and got my pedi...ran into my friend Robin. We got to chat, then we went and browsed a few stores in our "mall." I just got a french (but I am going to get a fun beach scene in July...my mama and I both are). :)

I then ran to Publix and picked up some baked potatoes for supper. Came home, tossed a salad, and am about to get ready for a ladies night out...we're going to see a movie!!! Fun! My kind of day!

Festive or French?

One of my sweet babies, Will, gave me a gift certificate to get a pedicure at a local nail salon in town, as an end of the year gift. I am sad to say, that I haven't had a pedicure since the summer we got married. I just will not pay the money for one, and feel that I would rather use that money for a cute new piece of jewelry or to go to the movies. I have a ped egg and I take care of my feet, but it is time. And I will not pass up a free gift!

With that being said, I love getting them! I am very excited but am in a dilemma! A hard one at that! ;)

Do I want a french pedicure, which used to be my signature go to nail design? Or do I want to get in the summer spirit and get a festive palm tree or tropical flower on top of a coral or bright pink? Hmmm...decisions, decisions.

I am grateful for the gift! It is nice to know that my student and his family, think I deserve this treat!
