Y'all Come Inn!

I spent last weekend celebrating my old college roomie, Meg, down on Tybee Island, GA. She is getting married on June 4th in LaGrange. We stayed in the famous, Paula Deen Beach House. I am waiting on the official photographer of the weekend to post group pictures and some other fun stuff that we did, but here are my wonderful phone pictures to give you a hint of Paula's fabulous decor!

Friday night we all arrived pretty late. I have a picture of the food table and of the bedroom that I shared with my BFF Bex. We played some fun games and Meg opened gifts. I would say that Friday night was GIRL time to the EXTREME. Lots of laughter!

Saturday me and my old roomies ate breakfast on the front porch, and then stayed on the beach all day. WE came in long enough to eat lunch and cool off. We found the Paula sign hidden behind the curtain...which made us laugh because she looked like a ghost. I guess the girls sleeping downstairs got scared in the night and hid her there.

We ate dinner at Uncle Bubba's Oyster House on the marsh and went to a Dueling Piano Saloon, called Savannah Smiles for Meg's night out. We ate so much and I could just drink the Shore is good seafood dip. The piano bar was fun for a few hours...the music and atmosphere was awesome. However, I am too old to be staying there until 3am. Savannah seemed scary about that time, and I had a young frat boy that desperately wanted me to get up and dance with him. Thankfully, my girl, Bex, had my back!! Meg had the best time, and that is what matters. Seriously though, there were seven police men blocking off an alley and unheard of things going on...which made for a long walk back to our cars. It was about that time that we had the great idea of bringing "Paula" with us everywhere we went and taking group pictures with her. We didn't do it, but wouldn't it have been funny?

Sunday we went and walked River Street, then ate lunch at Crystal Beer Palace. Yum! Then sadly, we all departed and headed back to various parts of the state. I'm excited about a reunion in June. I was in charge of writing in the guest book at Paula's place. We had a blast!

Matt spent the weekend with my parents (my hometown) which isn't far from Savannah. So, he came and picked me up and we spent another day on Tybee Island. Perfect relaxation.

I'll post more pictures when I get them!! Y'all have a great day!!!

I could get used to this...

I'm finally home...enjoying my Spring Break from school! I've done a lot in a few short days. I went to a bachelorette weekend with friends, spent a day at the beach, enjoyed family time, I've read a good book, and gotten a few things crossed off my to do list. I'm excited about having the time to get some organizational projects done, and some relaxing time at home too. A little break was just what I needed! I could really get used to having time on my hands!

This verse about lept of the page at me this afternoon.
2 Chronicles 20:20b
Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.

SPRING FEVER

I have Spring Fever, and I have it BAD! 2 more days until I am on Spring Break!

Today is my baby brother's birthday. He is 22 years old! Wow! That makes me OLD! He celebrated with his girlfriend tonight, but I'll get to take him out or cook him dinner next week!

I got to shower my sweet friend, Alacia, with a baby shower this afternoon. Brooklyn Herring is due in 2 weeks. Alacia was my mentor teacher when I student taught about 5 years ago. She is an amazing person and friend. I am so thankful that the Lord and my principals matched us up. I learned so much from her, and she helped me more than she will ever know. I was SO YOUNG and NAIVE back then! My student teaching experience was a blessing and I loved every minute. Who knew then that I'd be teaching at that same school, right along side her?! And who would've ever guessed that I'd be at a baby shower for her! Did I mention that she was diagnosed with cancer three years ago? She is now a cancer surivor and graduated with her Master's right after me! She made the comment tonight that she thought she'd be at one for me already! Honestly, I did too. :)However, the Lord's timing is perfect!

I'll leave you with a few random pictures taken in the last few weeks!

Isaiah 40:28-29
Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

My Selah Weekend

Friday we enjoyed Selah, Aaron Shust, and Shaun Groves in Valdosta. AMAZING night of worship!

Saturday morning, I was busy with JSL's Prom Closet. I LOVE prom closet. I was nervous about being in charge of the money. But everything went smoothly and we definitely made a profit and helped find lots of girls beautiful dresses to wear to their upcoming events.

While I was volunteering, Matt was working, and we left our poor two weekend guests at home alone. We made up for it though, and went out to lunch at Barberito's, visited a plantation (and got stuck for a minute), and hit up a few shops.

We all even squeezed in a little nap while it rained. Then we went ate dinner at Moto Japanese Steakhouse, made a Publix run for a movie and ice cream, and settled in for a night up in the Pickin' Shed.

Sunday, Matt led worship. He taught the church the song, Came to my Rescue by Hillsong. It was great! He did a really good job!!! Sunday was a very relaxing day, and there was a lot of rain..which I love when we have no where to go!

I learned that the word, Selah, (which is found all throughout the Psalms) means to pause or an extended pause. I feel like that is what my weekend was....a time to reflect and be refreshed, oh and have some fun with friends! :)
