Let the celebrating begin!

We had a little 3 seasons celebration tonight!

And earlier today, I surprised him with a cheap sweet treat! This morning I went up to school to help another teacher move some furniture, and Matt went to fit two patients. When he got home, this was waiting on him. He said it was the best surprise he has ever had...REALLY?...he was serious.

BIG NEWS

Matt got a new job! We are thankful and thrilled and I am so proud of him! He worked so hard to get this job and to be honest, waiting for 4 weeks as he went through interviews and a field ride was very hard! Congratulations my sweet hubby, you deserve it!

The first picture makes me laugh because it is seconds after we found out that he got it! I was walking out the door to go to a pool party with some teacher friends, but I stopped in my tracks when I heard some positive feedback. So, as Matt was writing down details, I was trying to capture the moment.

The best part was as soon as he got off the phone his first instinct was to pray and thank God. That is just what we did! We know it is not going to be easy, but it is the desire of Matt's heart right now, so we are excited about what God is going to do through this! I told Matt when all of this started that it seemed to good to be true, but the Lord has a plan and that he wants to give you what you dream of! I read this verse, and prayed that it would happen for him. Thank you, Lord! We are so grateful!

Ephesians 3:20
God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.

Two Things

1. If you've ever wondered, I work with the absolute greatest people. My Principal and Assistant Principal are not only my bosses, but I trust them, love them, look up to them, and they are two ladies that I'd call my good friends. I feel so blessed to work at my school and system (as I have many great friends that teach all throughout the system.)

This just sums up my P and AP's relationship with the students at my school. One of my students won an iPod for attending our school for 5 years. She was thrilled and I caught this picture on camera! My P is sitting on the bench, my AP is hugging Emma.

2. We have this awesome teenager that lives down our street. He is the nicest teen, lives with his grandmother, and we've enjoyed talking with him from time to time. He doesn't have a phone, so sometimes he will stop by our house to call his grandmother and let her know that he is home (she works nights). Well, last night he did just that. And he was dressed like this.

He just got through with graduation. Now I don't usually let BULLDOGS in this YELLOW JACKET house, but I did just this once to get a picture. :) He is going to Georgia Southern this fall on a football scholarship! We are also very happy for him because he got a car for graduation. Before that he walked EVERYWHERE.

Happy Saturday and 1st Day of Summer Vacation!

1 MORE DAY! It Can't be true!

Had a great, but tiring day at our luau! Excited about our disco tomorrow!

Matt spent some time with me and my class today. He took this of me reading to them before lunch. I loved that he got to truly see EVERYTHING that I do in a normal day! :)

However, the end of school is always bittersweet. I'm so ready for summer this year, but always enjoy the end of the year too. And of course, I will miss the 20 students that have become my babies. I crave the freedom and slow pace of summer, but in reality will miss the structure and routine of the school year.

It is crazy to look back at how far I've come. Especially at my school. I came in young and engaged, still in college and student teaching. I changed schools, came back, completed my masters degree, bought a house, become very involved in the community. I've really grown a lot. I'm thankful for so many wonderful mentors and friends at my school. I've been truly blessed. 4 (5 if you count student teaching/support teaching) years down.... :)

Thank you, LORD! Who am I, that you've brought me this far?

Golf and an early 4th of July Celebration!

Matt and I hit some golf balls tonight...a favorite past time!

I had to include a tired teacher picture! I have tons of energy at 4:30am...but at 9pm I am fading quickly! :)

We had a Summer Holiday celebration at school today. Our principals and counselor grilled hotdogs for all the kindergarten students. One of our social studies standards focuses on holidays...we discussed Memorial Day and Independence Day and had a family picnic to celebrate. Everyone also wore red, white, and blue. One of my sweet mama's made this graduation cake for our class today.

And here are a few pictures I took of graduation. I LOVE the picture of one of my students, Emma. She is peeking out at the bus riders, trying to get a good look at their "beautiful graduation clothes." (Emma comes to my room early, because her Mom teaches at my school.)

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

It is well...

I had a hard night last night. I couldn't sleep. I was panicking over some things. I remember falling asleep to two things though.

This song sung by Selah.

And this verse...I memorized it a long time ago in a bible study. And it was like it was on repeat in my head. Reminding me to keep praying.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:6-7

Thankful for another morning to live for HIM! Have a great day!

Thankful Day

I know the weather is a little on the cool side, but I am LOVING it! We sat outside for a long time this evening on our little rusty bench that we placed under some shade trees in our backyard. The sun was shining on us and the breeze was amazing. We were tucked away in our little woods. Blakely was loving it too!

I am so thankful that my friend, Ashley, made it through her surgery today with success! She got a sports injury playing tennis and will be in a cast for months now. At least she is super cute with her zebra crutches!

Field day was so fun today! I love watching my kids being good sports and showing teamwork! We had a BIG talk about that before hand. That and reading Junie B. Jones Captain Field Day seemed to do the trick. It was special to present their medals to them too! What a fun age to teach!

Romans 11:33
Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!
