Memories, A Wedding, and Bunting!

We were in LaGrange, GA yesterday for my friend, Meg's, wedding. I lived with Meg my last year in Valdosta. We lived with my other good friend, Bex, in a pretty stucco house in a cute little neighborhood on the edge of our beloved college town. We had the best time living together. We shared everything...especially jewelry, had many movie marathons/tv show marathons, layed out in our backyard all the time, ate a lot of meals together, and my favorite memories are when the three of us would stay up really late in the summer, lock the doors of our house, vow to not let anyone stop by, and have "roomie" time. We also did lots of normal college activities, like retreats and football games. Meg was the youngest in our house, so it is fitting that she is the final Wisteria Way (our street) roomie to get married. Here are some fun memories...

It was so good to see Bex, her hubby, and cute Lilly. As well as some other college friends, Abby and Lisa! I also loved seeing the beautiful bride and one of her great friends, Melinda (Melinda, I wish we lived closer so we could hang out more!). Matt and I had a great time!!!

And of course I've been in a patriotic mood lately since Summer is in full swing and it is SO hot in SGA! Matt put up some bunting on our front porch. I kind of want to add more. He thinks it is enough. If I had something else to return to Hobby Lobby I would def. pick up some more! That is my thing lately, exchanging things. Haha! :)

Friday Night Fun

Matt and I went on a much needed date night last night. A real date, just the two of us...something we haven't done in a long while. It was so, so hot so we chose to do something inside. We had a gift card to Olive Garden, and then we went to the movies. FUN!!

Before all of that we stopped at the just opened Hobby Lobby! It is one of my very favorite stores and I am thrilled that now Tally has one! I had a few returns to make, so I did that and picked up some red, white and blue bunting!!!

1 Chronicles 29:11
Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.

Maybe I'm a Vampire? :)

I LOVE my OBGYN and going there is actually fun to me. I know that is not normal, but I've never once liked a single Dr. of mine until now, so it is kind of a big deal for me.
Here I was on Wednesday, so excited about going to my favorite place!

Wednesday I went in for bloodwork. Basically, my veins are hard to find. And the people in the lab always get frustrated when trying to take blood. Usually several people are called in and then sometimes even a Dr. Then I am usually told that I don't have blood or veins and that I might be a Vampire. Ha!

Well, I got stuck SO many times, and then got sent home. No blood. She thought I was dehydrated. Good thing I don't mind being stuck or needles at all. In fact, I'd rather get stuck then take a pill or swallow a nasty liquid.

Thursday I went back. After drinking lots and lots of water. Notice the cup?

She finally got it from my hand! She was pleased that I didn't bruise as much as she thought I would in all of the previous places that were stuck!

Is it weird that I was kind of sad that I didn't have to go back on Friday?

Y'all...I am already bored at home and it hasn't even been two weeks. Not to mention I've had plenty to do, been out of town a lot, and Matt's been home (although he's been really busy working on work related things). Even though I may be bored, I am thankful for rest, laying out, going for walks, getting organized, time with friends and family, and for having lots of time to soul search. I think I just need to come up with a set summer routine.

Memorial Day Weekend

I went to Atlanta last weekend for a bachelorette party! My good college friend, Ms. Lynn Collins is getting married in June, and this was her "last fling before the ring!" :) We met in Macon then drove up to Atl, painted at Dip N Dab, lunched at Panera, decorated, chatted, and played games at the hotel. We also had a lingerie shower for her. Then we went to Eclipse Di Luna Tapas Bar for Dinner and hit The Tongue and Groove Lounge afterwards in Buckhead. I think she had a blast!

Sunday and part of Monday, I got to spend time with my niece and nephew and my in-laws. We had a wonderful, relaxing time. I got to catch up on my rest from the weekend, go to Target, get in some play time, and go on a little date with my hubby! What could be better?

Monday night we drove to my hometown and had a Memorial Day cookout with my parents before they left to go out of town. I also got to see my sweet dog, Ginger (I truly feel that she helped me grow up...she was my best friend growing up and the sister I never had? Ha) Yeah, I'm a lot attached to her!

I love this!

The words of this song stick with me each time I hear it on the radio. It's one of my favorite these days!

I went back to school in 2007...

to become a Reading Specialist in grades PreK-12th. And I did just that. Aside from the long drives each week, late nights working on assignments, guilty feelings for ignoring my husband, student loans, and trying to balance my first two years of teaching (2nd grade and K), I ended up learning A LOT and making friendships that will always be special.

My grad girls!

We met up and ate dinner Monday night in Quitman at our favorite, Coyoacan! Good food, lots of laughter, great conversation, a little shocking news, tons of encouragement....and 4 hours later I left the restaurant feeling refreshed and ready to tackle my last day of school!

My grad school years were some of the toughest, but best times yet!

SUMMER is here!

A good trip to the library always starts my summer off right!

And I have 10 or so more glorious books that I've been waiting to read for a long time on the way!
