You have to re-flat iron your hair after recess/bus duty. (I ususally don't do this, but I had a meeting and class this afternoon and didn't want huge wavy hair :))
There are gnats everywhere. We were inside a computer lab doing some research tonight and the gnats were awful - - even inside! I haven't even noticed the gnats in previous years...until a few weeks ago. Where did they come from?
I am so thankful for my husband...he sure puts up with a lot from me. :) And I am one tired girl tonight...TGIF-almost! I am already in my very comfortable bed! :)
Night y'all! Have a great Friday!
Proverbs 18:10
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
If you do, then I highly suggest watching/listening to this video this morning. This is my ALL TIME favorite song right now. And I love what Natalie Grant has to say at the end of the video.
I felt it late yesterday afternoon as I walked out of school...the breeze felt different...cooler (so much so that another teacher and I stopped to enjoy it for a minute instead of rushing to blast the AC in our cars).
Then again this morning around 6:15ish. It felt drastically cooler out.
So tonight, I just had to do something about it. I went outside and read for my class and revised an article review. I LOVE sitting on the front steps in the fall...maybe even more than the Spring! I'll admit, it took all that I had not to pull out my pumpkin spice and caramel apple candles.
I forgot my planner and notebook today. Do you see what I had to resort to? If I don't write it down and have it where I can see it, I will definitely forget to do it. I feel like my lists are never ending these days.
I can't wait to change Summer to Fall in my classroom. :)
I hope that everyone is enjoying this late summer --- hopefully early Fall night!
I LOVE this song, and these verses from Proverbs. There is so much on wisdom in Proverbs...reminds me of my Wising Up Bible Study "with" Beth Moore two summers ago! I hope that everyone has had a fabulous Monday! It was a busy, but great one for me!
Proverbs 15:22-23
Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed. To make an apt answer is a joy to a man, and a word in season, how good it is!
Proverbs 15:28-29
The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things. The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
Proverbs 15:33
The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor. And I already read ahead...Proverbs 16:1
Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word. >*I always need to be reminded of this! Sometimes I despise my planning nature. :)
Could I have a better husband? He has cooked dinner every night this week...while a certain kindergarten teacher rested her feet! :) He is truly the greatest!
I couldn't ask for a better support teacher to teach beside all day long. We work like a team and I can't even remember teaching before I had her! I'd be lost without all the help that she provides me. We can read each others minds. :) She was working on her laptop during naptime--putting together a calling tree for our wing in case of emergency, and I couldn't help but take a picture of her! Don't worry...she is used to me and my ways by now!
I'm waiting on Matt to get home from choir. Then I think maybe we'll finish an episode of the Kardashian's and then go to bed! Early to bed, early to rise! (I'm ready to feel perky in the wee hours of the morning instead of dog tired :)...maybe after another week of being back in this routine?)
Happy Wednesday! LOVE these verses from today. I'm reading a day ahead.
Proverbs 11:2
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
Proverbs 11:16
A kindhearted woman gains respect, but ruthless men gain only wealth.
Proverbs 11:25
A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
My new students are GREAT and our first two days have gone very smoothly, but I am worn out for sure! I'm going to bed really, really soon. I would've been asleep at 6:00 if it weren't for a JSL meeting! Ha!
Ready for the first Junior Service League meeting of the year! Two JSL essentials: a good planner and your collect. My what I've learned over the years!
After tonight's meeting, I'm super excited about this year! Lots of great things to come! As always, I love seeing fellow league members, and I love the atmosphere of the Cultural Center. Old architecture, dancers galore, classical music filling the halls, tap class going on right above our meeting room (the ceiling and chandeliers shake like they are going to come crashing down), and the pretty spanish moss swaying in the breeze in the large oaks that are right outside of the windows. This will be my third year in league!
Matt grilled lemon pepper chicken tonight. Wish I would've gotten a picture. I am sooo thankful that he is willing to help out...especially because I really am exhausted! Hats off to all the teaching mama's out there...you have to be AMAZING. I actually asked for advice on managing being a mom and teaching at tonights meeting to several of my new mommy/teacher friends. Teaching (especially in the primary grades at the beginning of school) is so very time consuming! Maybe they just have awesome hubby's like Matt! :)
It is raining so hard out right now and I LOVE it too! I feel very thankful to be in our little cozy house all together! I hope that everyone is having a great week!
And I wanted to wish the BEST dad in the world a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I love you Daddy!
And share my favorite song lately:
Proverbs 10:25
When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever.
One of my goals for this school year is to have both mine and Matt's clothes ironed and hanging, ready for the week. That is hard for me because I am a "how do I feel today?" kind of girl. I don't usually know what I want to wear until I wake up...and my style definitely changes depending on my mood. I know that it will be SO much easier and save me a lot of time in the morning to do this, so I started today. Week one. Check! :)
For the month of August I'm going to be reading through Proverbs. We are studying this book each Sunday morning at church. Oh how I loved it this morning! I will defintely have to recap my notes soon. It is also that time of year again, Awesome August Nights. I will probably be posting lots of verses from Proverbs over the next few weeks. Matt and I are going to get up before work and study it together...something we've really never done before. It is his favorite book of the Bible, so it will be fun I'm sure!
Sunday's are great days! Worship and rest!
Blakely likes them too!
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise widsom and discipline.
Proverbs 7:1 Dear friend, do what I tell you; treasure my careful instructions. Do what I say and you'll live well. My teaching is as precious as your eyesight--guard it!
I am a wife, teacher, grad student, and wanna-be mama :) The Lord is my strength in everything and He guides me every step of the way through this crazy, busy time in my life.
