Precious Pumpkins!

Have y'all seen all the precious pumpkin outfit posts going around Facebook? I can't handle them! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE pumpkins. And I adore these smocks. Believe me, I'm SA's biggest fan!

I mean, I've already ordered Christmas pj's because that's a must in July! I've browsed some Halloween costume ideas, and I have game day outfits picked out. But I have to stop there!

The start of a new school year is on my mind. My classroom, my new students, LEAVING my BABY ALL day again! :(

The new league year is on my mind! The new girls that I'll be working with, ordering t-shirts, pins, bags, filling notebooks with by-laws and ways they can get hours, and planning the provisional welcome!

Most importantly, soaking up my last week of summer with my best girl! And my Blakely! I'm loving every second so!

So, I'm having to pass up on all the precious pumpkin, turkey, and even Santa pre-orders. My mind just can't do it yet! :) Once I get through August, I'll be completely ready!

Whoa Wait Wal-Mart!

There's a group I follow on Instagram called this and they always post good stuff found at Wal-Mart. I'm actually way more of a Target girl, but lately WM has the cutest little girl clothes to me for around $5.00 or less. Here's what I've gotten this summer....
I think everyone in America got this dress!

Cute school supplies...

Precious paper goods...I'm a sucker for ladybugs. Molly Caroline has a lady bug back back and she was a lady bug for Halloween last year. Watermelons are another favorite of mine for several reasons. I'm still deciding, but I'm thinking we're going to do a watermelon summer picnic theme for Molly Caroline's 2nd birthday. It's between that and two other things! Lol

And here are my Target treasures!

MC's two favorite sippy cups. And we love these plates. They are light and even have a gripper on the bottom.

These were too cute to pass up for housewarming gifts. A new family moved in down the street and another is building.

All my summer browsing pays off! :)

Coke in a glass bottle and projects are what summer nights are all about!

The title of this post is a quote that Matt said last night. Haha! I think more along the lines of sitting at the pool with a good book. But we both do love a project!

So far this summer we've done a few big projects and a lot of small ones.

Matt built a farmhouse table for our backyard!

He also built a baby gate, which I painted.

He made shutters for our house!

We painted our front door.

We recovered a chair in our living room that had chevron fabric that I was over.

I made a simple 4th of July sign that really relates to us year round.

We added a basket to our mudroom and organized it.

We made a growth chart oversized ruler. Picture coming soon!

We hung a mail tin in our mudroom. I still have to add vinyl to it.

We are working on our playroom. I will post about it soon. We have the fabric and paint color. We are going to add a chalkboard, some artwork displays, a little table, and a chalkboard. Later in the year we will probably add shelving or storage.

And of course we have a project list-put up our picket fence, build some furniture, add a patio/fire pit,  add shelving to the garage and Matt's office. I'm probably even leaving out a few!

5 Fun Things!

Nailsville with the girls!

Coyoacan with friends!

My summer favorites!

Weekly shopping trips to fun stores like Target and TJ Maxx. With my little shopping buddy of course. I love taking our time and slowly browsing. During the school year we make weekly trips to Publix or Walmart only most of the time!

Baby pool/water table fun! Simple and relaxing and it's MC's favorite thing! We get to play outside but stay cool.

Back porch lunch picnics. Molly Caroline squeals when she wakes up from her nap and sees her lunch fixed on the back porch! I love my view too!

Reading! I'm hoping to keep it up now that I've started reading again. The Divergent Series was amazing to me! Glad to finally read it!

Netflix marathons at night with Matty. And back porch dates too!

Summer...don't end!

Birthday Traditions!

I'm sure we will add more traditions as Molly Caroline gets older, but I wanted to start some this year!

I was so thankful that her actual birthday was on the Wednesday before her party. It have us time to celebrate, cherish, and spoil her on her special day. Then we got to celebrate with everyone a few days later!

She was born during VBS week at our church, so we will probably celebrate there each year. And since she's a summer baby, we will probably celebrate the week before at school!

We filled the hallway outside of her bedroom with balloons. When I opened her door and she saw them she was thrilled! Balloons are her favorite thing right now and she just stood in her crib and squealed! We also got some sweet birthday loving in!

For breakfast we had funfetti birthday pancakes with a 1 candle (every year we will use a number candle) on a special plate.

I also had her breakfast spot decorated with balloons and a few presents that she got to open first thing. As she gets older we will probably let her open one that morning.

We shopped and lunched downtown. My mom was visiting so that was special! Then Matt's dad and Ellen stopped by! She played in her ball pit and got spoiled!

In our house, the birthday girl will get to choose where she wants to celebrate for dinner or what she wants us to fix.

We measured Molly Caroline! We will measure each year on her birthday using the oversized ruler that we made! So special!!

Then we will have birthday cake cupcakes and presents like we did in the hospital!

We let her smash into her cupcake. We also drove by the hospital and looked through a birth day book that I made for her. We will do this every year.

It was the sweetest day! We literally celebrated all day long!
