I'm sure we will add more traditions as Molly Caroline gets older, but I wanted to start some this year!
I was so thankful that her actual birthday was on the Wednesday before her party. It have us time to celebrate, cherish, and spoil her on her special day. Then we got to celebrate with everyone a few days later!
She was born during VBS week at our church, so we will probably celebrate there each year. And since she's a summer baby, we will probably celebrate the week before at school!
We filled the hallway outside of her bedroom with balloons. When I opened her door and she saw them she was thrilled! Balloons are her favorite thing right now and she just stood in her crib and squealed! We also got some sweet birthday loving in!
For breakfast we had funfetti birthday pancakes with a 1 candle (every year we will use a number candle) on a special plate.
I also had her breakfast spot decorated with balloons and a few presents that she got to open first thing. As she gets older we will probably let her open one that morning.
We shopped and lunched downtown. My mom was visiting so that was special! Then Matt's dad and Ellen stopped by! She played in her ball pit and got spoiled!
In our house, the birthday girl will get to choose where she wants to celebrate for dinner or what she wants us to fix.
We measured Molly Caroline! We will measure each year on her birthday using the oversized ruler that we made! So special!!
Then we will have birthday cake cupcakes and presents like we did in the hospital!
We let her smash into her cupcake. We also drove by the hospital and looked through a birth day book that I made for her. We will do this every year.
It was the sweetest day! We literally celebrated all day long!
