It's official....

the hardest month of the teaching year is over. My body has adjusted and so has my family. I always feel a little refreshed and excited after Labor Day because apples, pumpkins and Fall Break are on the horizon!

Now if I can just keep my house in order! I'm starting a cleaning schedule that I found this week. I'll post it if it works for me!

This week in school was kind of rough. Not real sure why. Some days were great others were wild! :/

We worked on sentences and spacing. We started a new compliment incentive for a Popsicle party. We also had some fun on trikes this week!
We did day and night and learned about the moon.

I forgot to bring a coconut to crack open during Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and my kids were super interested in doing it, so we did that this week too.

We are practicing acting out nursery rhymes for grandparents day too. Stuffed Humpty Dumpty's were a hit. And our iPads. They are absolutely obsessed with those!
At home we stayed busy with church, life groups, playing in the half finished :) playroom and spending time at the golf course. Monday felt glorious so we soaked up tons of outside time. And bed head? Oh my! Molly Caroline's hair was huge this week! :)

Loving this three day weekend!

MC's current faves!

She will be 15 months old next week!

Shoes! Her shoes, my shoes, Matt shoes...doesn't matter! She carries them everywhere, stands in them, tries to put them on her feet, and gets so excited when I put them on her! :)

These books are her go to ones right now. It amazes me how I find her everyday sitting in front of her little book nook reading.

Balls. She still loves them! She throws them, roll them. She loves kicking them. She also loves to watch people throw them up and catch them. I love how she turns her hands up to try and catch a ball.

Our shutters. She opens them and closes them constantly!

Stuffed animals. She carries them around with her, be the neck and tucked under her arm. It's the most precious sight!

I just wanted pictures of her favorites!

All about me, a virus, and a fence...

This week was a whirlwind because I only worked 3 1/2 days. That made it a little bit crazy, but also made me realize how teaching part time would be the perfect balance. Not that's it going to ever happen! Monday morning I was greeted by these adorable slippers. My friend Brooke's little boy, Pierson, outgrew them and now they're Molly Caroline's!

We filled all about me bags this week and oh my, they brought in some precious things. I wouldn't mind if Molly Caroline's bag looked like this one day....a UGA hat, a Bible, and ballet slippers.

We also did some basic counting games in math, alphabet games with one of our "monsters" and iPad playing! And yes, they had their ice cream party and sorted and counted gummy bears and sprinkles before they partied!

We got to see some of Matt's family from Missouri this week! They drove from Destin to Tally and met us for dinner at Bella Bella! That was one of the highlights of our week!

Tuesday afternoon when I picked MC up from daycare she seemed fussy, which is so rare! I asked if she had slept and she had both of her naps. When I got home I we took her temp and it was high 102s. It was close to 5 so Matt called the Pediatric center and begged for then to see us then! They were awesome and stayed late! By the time we made it there her temp was mid 103s. Scary! They did bloodwork, a flu test, and her ears, throat, and lungs all looked fine! So she sent us to Archbold to get a chest X-ray. I  immediately called my neighbor who said she was on call and asked if I wanted her to come up to the hospital and do the xray. I said no, and she kindly called to tell her coworkers that we were on our way with the most previous baby girl! Only our hospital has pine needles inside the glass! I remember noticing this as I was checking in the hospital to have Nolly Caroline. :)

I stayed home on Wednesday. MC was busy this day! We did have an appointment and it seemed like her fever might be going down. However it def sky rocketed back up! The ped center is awesome and they called us several times over these few days to check on her and see how her nights were.

Matt took off Thursday. We met back at the Dr after I got off work and they did a urine cath. It was fine.

Friday we both had important meetings scheduled for the morning but Matt was able to reschedule his for the afternoon, so I worked until 11:30. I came home fed her lunch and then forced myself to do lesson plans and work on my class we page while she slept. Thankfully her fever wasn't as high.

Molly Caroline finally had no fever Satirday morning! I got everything clean and changed out and Matt started on the fence outside. We finally got the permit approved!
I'll end this post with the sweetest pic of all! :) I'm so thankful our baby girl is better!

August fun! Pictures, play time, and our playroom.

Our family photographer has become a friend and we met up for Molly Caroline's one year pictures last week. It is still the summer that she turned 1. ;) We chose to take them behind the prettiest little historic church in town. It felt like a secret garden. I was a little worried because the shoot was scheduled for only about an hour before Molly Caroline's usual bedtime but she did great. She laughed and ran around the entire time. We went to Moonspin after with our photographer and her husband. I can't wait to get the cd, but here are some I took. :)

Since we only have a few precious hours with Molly Caroline every evening we try to make the most of our time. We play, play, play after school. Then, We always sit down for supper together. After supper we try to get outside. Last night we knew we wanted to go on a walk but hated for her to just sit in her stroller. So we decides to push her in her cozy coupe around the neighborhood. She loved it! It was a little but more fun than a normal walk. Did I mention she likes baths in the tub again. Praise The Lord!

We've been working on her playroom slowly but surely. It's half painted Revere Pewter. I think our entire house will be painted in BM Historical colors soon...just like my parents! :)

I'm going to try and sew the curtains this weekend. Possibly pillows too.

We've finished her chalkboard and are about finished with the boards that will hold her artwork.

I need to order her table and bookshelves.

I'm hoping my mom can find the prints that I had hanging in my room because they will match perfectly.

The color inspiration for the room is this print.

I also have my red desk in the corner. I want a new bulletin board and some hardware.

We will probably add a window seat and a kitchen (if Santa brings MC one) :) after Christmas.

Work, decorations, and celebrations!

So tomorrow starts the third week of our school year. The weeks have felt long but when I think about starting the third week of the first 9 weeks I feel like it's already flying by! I've been trying to take more pictures of things that I do with my class.

The first week we focused on getting home each day. We graphed their mode of transportation. We talked about rules, procedures, and expectations. A lot! We also earned sprinkles (compliments) toward an ice cream party. We are currently 1 away. ;)

The second week we did Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. And letters and letter sounds.....we were assessing to determine differentiation for small groups. I forgot to take a picture of our Chicka tree snack. Oh well! I'm loving counting the number of days of school using ten frames. My class also learned how to control their blurts!! :)

I am definitely just about ready for fall. I think after one last trip to the beach I'll be 100 percent ready! I still have summer decor up. Lemons, limes, and patriotic touches here and there. I think I'll change it out for football next weekend!!

I  am excited about hanging this moss wreath that I just got soon. I need to add some burlap ribbon. Am I the only one obsessed with moss?

I can just see these lanterns filled with pumpkins in the fall!

We had a great weekend! My parents came to visit to celebrate my dad's 66th birthday. So fun and special. Having them here is my favorite thing ever. We shopped Saturday afternoon and then grilled steaks, watched Divergent, and ate peach crisp for dessert. Perfection!

This weekend went by too fast! Praying that it's a great week!
