Pumpkin Patch Disaster!
I volunteered to work the patch months ago...probably my first JSL meeting because you know I love pumpkins! Of course when Oct. 27 came around it was the rainiest day EVER. I made sure and called the Cultural Center (I have to have about 15 hours I think a year for league) to see if they were still having it. Of course, they said yes.
I ended up being the only person there working it. Only one person stopped by to get a pumpkin in the monsoon...and they ended up not getting one. And the tent filled up with water and collapsed. Luckily, I dodged the flood of water, and got to come home a little bit early!
Even wet, the pumpkins still looked pretty though...especially under all the oaks and spanish moss. I'll try again next year :)

Walking up to the CC in the dreary weather. We actually have our monthly meetings here.

I had to stand the entire time b/c the table and chairs were wet. I was trying to place the money and stickers in a spot where they wouldn't get wet.

You can sort of see the sagging tent about to collapse. Don't the pumpkins look pretty?

Rainy tennis courts.

And rainy playground. I was a little bit bored.

Leaving!!! Woo Hoo! :)
Changing the subject. This week has been crazy! CRAZY! Halloween week and Red Ribbon Week and a full moon in elementary school is INSANE!! It has felt long and I'm very ready for Friday! The weekend can't get here soon enough.
I think this is so cute: My kids are very obsessed with this one Halloween cd that I have. They LOVE Ghost Busters and Harry Potter. I had no idea that they even knew what those two movies were! But they are all about them. They also tell everybody that they pass that I have plum colored nails, they are not painted black. Wait to make me feel special and call attention to my nails. I feel like every one is thinking I painted them black for Halloween. They are OPI Lincoln Park After Dark and are a plum color that sort of look black/burgundy. I painted them for Cowboy Ball..not Halloween friends :)

This is the color. Although if you know me, I love a short black nail. :)

Growing up with The Home and Family Show.
The audio at the beginning is kind of scratchy, but it gets better.
The one show that can still bring tears to my eyes and fill my heart with so much joy....almost 10 years later.
If you know me well, you will sometimes hear me mention a memory, or you will know that my dog Ginger, is named after many of the amazing women on this show, The Home and Family Show.
It came on The Family Channel, before Fox Family, (that is when it went off the air...the company changed) M-F from 1-3pm. 2 hours during the most boring stretch of the day if you are home sick, or on summer vacation. I happened to see it one day while I was in middle school I think..maybe 8th grade and was hooked from them on. I taped it every single day and would watch it every night. I also never ever recorded over a single episode. My dad still teases me about my tapes. My entire family wathced it too though...Daddy, Mama, Billy, and G :) My Nanny too. In high school, I strategically planned orthodontist trips during the end of the day, so I could catch a few minutes of it LIVE. It was a LIVE show. I would be thrilled when dance would be cancelled or tennis...just so I could watch my "second family."
Anyway, this show taught me so much about life...really. All of the segments were so informative. To this day, I have knowledge that keeps people guessing how I know something...H and F. My favorite thing about the show was the opening segment and how all of the "family members" sat on the couch and interacted. I also loved how the hosts real children would come and just hang out on set, on camera, if they had a day off school. There were segments on health, beauty, exercise, cooking, gardening, celebrities, music..etc!
Watch this clip. It gives you an idea about how laid back the show was and how great it was. I would love to find one of the Hawaii epidsodes. They filmed for a few weeks in Hawaii...all their families went with them. I truly felt like I was on vacation there too! Ahhh, the memories :)
*Carrie...Candace, Kymmy, Mayita, and Cristina are all in this for sure!!
Oh and just watch the beginning of this next clip. Candance has a surprise for Cristina (who is wearing the necklace from the movie, Titanic)!!! You can tell how close everyone is. This was also when there was talk about the show going off the air.

Song of the week!
Who am I kidding...song of the night :) Then I'm finishing up a book I JUST checked out at the library, then going to bed..EARLY! I had a really good Monday, got a lot done this afternoon, and had a great meal for supper. I'm praying the rest of the week goes as smoothly.
This is my newest morning song. I listen over and over and over...you get the picture. It fits and it is still way dark when I am driving to work.
Oh, and Nanny Jane has a new nurse that comes over MWF. Nanny Jane really likes her, she is great. I am so thankful. What an answer to prayer for our entire family. I will finally get to go visit my sweet Nanny Jane in about a month! I pray that she continues to recover. And that she knows me when I get there!
May the Lord be praised! Day after day He bears our burdens; God is our salvation.
-Psalm 68:19

This and That Thursday!
This is what I found in my classroom this morning. My support teacher lives on a farm...so I requested decorating cotton :) and I wanted to put some in my Science area too. I was still surprised that she brought this much! I guess mama will get her wish and get some for her mantle!
I am not a fan of report cards. I love conferences, and I love collecting data, but I do not like writing report card comments...at ALL! My night:
Look at my mums! My friend, Robin, gave them to us as a housewarming gift when we first moved in 3 weeks ago! The blooms are getting bigger every day! I love them!
And these are the pumpkins that Matty got for us...we will be carving them soon! I'm excited! We actually took a field trip to a pumpkin patch today. It was perfect weather and so much fun :)

Blakely's Birthday, Work Ramblings, and Cowboy Ball!

So...yesterday was a very special day in our house. It was Blakely Whelan's birthday! :) She turned 3. We spoiled her rotten, but she deserved it! Every time we sang Happy
Birthday...she would run in the room and sit and wait for a new toy. Love my baby girl puppy!
I am EXHAUSTED as I type...I have been getting up at 4:30 for the past few days just to have time to fit all of my work in. I had my first formal observation today, which lasted 1.5 hours and went well I think....my post observation conference is Friday! My AP has never evaluated me before so I was extra nervous. Another cool thing is that my school decided to let the students submit a picture of healthy habits to use as the front of our Healthy Habits tshirts this year. My AP told me today that my little girl, Molly Grace, won!!!! I am so proud!

We have friends coming into town this weekend for The Cowboy Ball and I can't wait!!! I am also excited that they get to stay in our new house with us...more room is great! I hope that the weather is perfect out...it takes place on a local plantation! I'm ready to kick up my heels and enjoy the fall weather! I am really enjoying being a member of the Junior Service League. I am excited to share it with my grad girls!

I found this on google images. I didn't know that my fellow Tville League Members were famous :) The girls at Cowboy ball last year!
