Snow Day Sick Day

That's right. I felt bad from the time I woke up this morning, but me being stubborn and a control freak about my kids and classroom, went to school. I made it through snow day and changing all their clothes, and I started teaching a writing lesson about 10:00 and I knew that I couldn't talk, take care of, teach, or run after my kids today. I felt HORRIBLE. So I took the walk of shame up to my Principals office, she was out a snow day and couldn't be reached. I have never left school early for being sick. In fact, I've only left early once in the 4 years that I've been teaching and that is for a bunch of dentist appointments last month. One of our office ladies just told me to sign out because they know that I never leave, so I must be sick. I made it really easy on them and already found a found someone to do my bus duty and someone to cover my class with my support. I am lucky that I teach inclusion and have some extra support if I need it.

I drove home crying, hating leaving my kids when we already have a long weekend. Dreading having to go up there this weekend because I know my room will not be set up for Tuesday and it will probably be a wreck. I just like things the way I like them, and that's perfect. So I do them myself. And I was crying because I was embarassed that I felt sick..ugh!

I slept almost all day and dashed to the bathroom a few times. Apparently there is a bug going around our school that makes you feel flu like. I have finally managed to pull myself out of bed, but I still feel weak and sickly if that makes sense. The teacher that was supposed to cover my bus duty ended up throwing up at school too and went home early. Apparently Wing A is SICK!

I have to share this picture from snow day. My MG brought a bag full of buttons, m n m's, carrots, necklaces, minnie mouse ears, etc...to build a snowman. Well, the ice was packed too tightly and they only built a head, but I thought that it was adorable. I love my class!

Matt and I have had a few things planned for tomorrow and I hope that they work out!

TV Talk Thursday

It is sad how many shows that I love and try to keep up with on tv right now! Really it is.

Ok, first up, The Bachelor: on the wings of love :) what a cheesy name. These are my favorite girls. I hope that they all get a rose again next week. Who knows, maybe I'll end up liking someone else later!

Ella

Tenley

Ali

I am sad that Kimberly never got a rose. I liked her too!

Well, I'm about to be in my pj's watching the Grey's/Private Practice Crossover! I love Addison and Private Practice!! While I'm waiting I'm going to fold some laundry, pull out my Uggs because tomorrow is SNOW DAY at my school, and write some thank you notes...I'm so behind on all my thank you notes from Christmas!

Very ready for tomorrow night...for several reasons!!!

Oh! And here is one of my SQUARE snowman plates and matching cookie jar that mama got me a few years ago! My favorite thing about them is the colorful scarf! I have always had eyes for accessories!

Everyone needs compassion...

This song has been stuck in my head all day. I love Laura Story singing it even better than Hillsong I think. She is AWESOME! How sad is the devastation in Haiti? I worked with a woman from Haiti in Valdosta, all of her family is still there. It is so sad. I feel very compelled to donate money for relief efforts. This song just makes me think about the earthquake too for some reason. We don't realize how much we are blessed with until something horrible happens.

More about Laura Story. There is also a video of Laura Story showing how to play it on guitar...Matty will be learning really soon! I'm telling y'all that with confidence.

I had a good day today, am ahead in school work, had a fun day with my kids, and have been really enjoying getting home early enough to cook supper and exercise! Loved spending time at church tonight with my good friends. I also enjoyed getting to see some of my sweet babies (now in 3rd grade)! Wow time flies! I love good fellowship!

I had to share this picture...guess what my sweet MG got for her birthday?? A white watch like mine! We were proud to be twins today :)

Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.

Things I loved about today...

1. Celebrating MG's birthday!

2. Getting home early and spending time with Blakely!

3. The provisional meeting in the CC auditorium...feeling confident about my hours! And excited about our service project!

4. Sitting on the back row in the general meeting, laughing with my prov. class.

5. Staying late and talking with the board...figuring out what I need to do! And catching up with friends that I hardly ever see.

6. Following Becky and Jill home. I love living in the same neighborhood as so many friends. There are a bunch of us that are in league too.

I am watching Biggest Loser and Idol tonight, while I fill out my time sheet for league. I am very excited about church with the ladies tomorrow night!

On a side note, the previews for Dear John keep on coming up during every commercial. I LOVED that book. But Matt and I love hearing that song that is at the end of the trailer. I found it. It has a neat sound.

I guess tonight, I'm just thankful for a lot of opportunities and the blessing of so many friendships in my NEW (we've lived here almost 4 years) town!

God's way is perfect. All the LORD's promises prove true.

It's my Blogiversary!

Sort of. I started my blog in June 08, but really didn't post consistently until January 09. So this weekend is actually my 1 year blogiversary! Blogging has become a very fun hobby of mine and helps me remember everything (exciting and boring) about our lives!

It is funny because somehow I got hooked on reading a few blogs last January and kept on seeing the buttons, "Praying for Harper" everywhere, so I clicked and Harper had just been born. I think I first went to Kelly's page a day or two after she was born...so I began praying and got sucked into Kelly's Korner. Since then, I have a lot of blogs that I love to read! My first year of blogging has flown by! It is really fun to look back on the past year!

In other news, we had a great Saturday and Sunday. I checked out a lot of new books.
These are my current reads.

I finally got around to taking pictures of some of our winter decorations. I have a set of snowmen dishes that my mama got me a few years ago, along with a cookie jar, and I have some set around the house on plate stands, but I have yet to get a picture of those! Coming soon. Our winter decor is pretty boring compared to fall/Christmas. I do have some new ideas, but I'll save them and decorate with them next year!

We also went to Valdosta Saturday night to go to JoS. A. Bank because Matt needed a few new dress shirts for his suits, we also stopped at Hobby Lobby, and TJ Maxx! I got two new pairs of shoes for a steal! They are awesome brands...and oh so comfy!

We were going to eat dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings, but the wait was too long, so we decided on Outback. I got a really spicy shrimp and green bean dish that was DELISH!

We took a lot of silly pictures on our "date" and they seriously make me laugh!

We spent Sunday evening organizing the office. It is starting to come together. I'm in need of a large, chunky, woodsy, looking frame for the golden retriever print that I got Matt a while back. I love my hubby and fixin' up his office for him!

2 final pictures...

Matty looking super cute in his Dawg pajamas with Blakely girl....

Us bundled up before our nightly walk!

We had on triple layers, gloves, ear muffs...Brr!

Well, it is Bachelor time again! I will probably post while I am watching. I have a few favorites already, but I want to watch a little more to see if my initial favs are correct!

I called, You answered!

Thank you, Jesus!

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure, because You will not abandon me...
Psalm 16:9-10
