Questions

I saw this on a blog and immediately wanted to answer them.

{one} What color best describes you + why?
I would say pink...because it is girly. But then I love white too and how classic and simple it is. Or maybe any bright color...I love bold colors. I feel like all of those characteristics describe me.

{two} How have you changed in the past year?
I am more content with who I am and where I am in life. Age is not such a biggie for me anymore and I am enjoying every different season that the Lord brings me to. There have also been lots of changes in our household this year. From budget to a new job to new Doctors. All of these things were difficult at the time, but have turned out to be huge blessings.

{three} Have you ever had any surgeries?
Yes! I had one this year in February. It wasn't bad at all, but I did get tons of TLC from Matty, who watched it and thought that it looked extremely awful!

{four} Why did you start your blog?
I originally started it when I was in grad school, the summer of 08 I think. My friend, CB and I wanted to blog and wanted a way to journal online. I did a few posts then didn't really start blogging until January of 09, the following year. Now, I love looking back at things I've learned or pictures of Matt and I. It gives friends and family that are out of town a peek into our Thomasville lives.

{five} What are you looking forward to this summer?
Going to Saint George Island! My mama coming to town to shop!

{six} Do you have any family traditions for the 4th of July?
Sort of. Our nephew was born on the 4th of July so we usually spend the 4th in Atlanta. We usually celebrate with a birthday party and family time. When we are in town on the actual holiday, we serve with our church at our towns 4th of July celebration in Remington Park. Then watch fireworks from the park. We will be doing both this year!

{seven} What’s something new that you’ve tried in the past few months?
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS on Netflix...LOVE! Lemon ice cream. Chipotle. Eyeshadow Primer..great! I don't usually try new things I guess.

{eight} What is the perfect A/C temperature?
78 degrees is what we keep it on at our house. It is usually comfortable.

{nine} What was the last movie you saw in the theater?
Bridesmaids...it was funny!

{ten} What song do you think everyone should hear at least once?
Ummm...DESERT SONG by Hillsong? I really don't know. I just love it!

I'm Back!

I'm back after a wonderful wedding weekend in Douglas, GA. One of my best friends from college got married and it was absolutely perfect. Wedding recap coming soon. We got back into town around Midnight. We were WORN OUT!

We went to SS, church, and Publix this morning.

Matt had some things to work on, we took a long nap, and then caught up on Friday Night Lights. It felt so good to put on a t-shirt and shorts and just relax on the couch. My kind of Sunday afternoon!

I really wish I could've gone to Dublin to spend time with the best Dad in the world. That would have made this day perfect. I am going to make it up to him and the next time I visit, we're going to celebrate Father's Day then. I love my sweet, smart, cute Daddy and am so very thankful for him! He has always been there for me and has taught me so much! I'm realizing that I'm a lot like him and that makes me happy! :)

Jeremiah 17:7
But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

My shoes for Lynn's wedding FINALLY came in! Good thing, as her wedding is just days away! I LOVE them and am quite pleased with my choice! :)

I'm loving that I have lots of time to read. This book isn't really that good, but I'm interested in finding out the ending. However, I've already read lots of GREAT books this summer! Maybe I'll do a Summer Reads 2011 post.

I'm getting my standards written in child friendly language (color coded) and ready to be laminated. So far, I've only finished the 1st 9 weeks. But hey, it is a start!

I'm so glad that we got to have dinner with my Aunt Marion this week. She was in Tally for work, and she treated us to Bonefish!

I'm loving my "fun in the sun" bucket. I won this as a door prize on our last day of school. It came with sunscreen, a water bottle, a beach towel, and a book. I now keep a visor, my iPod, several books, etc. in it. I just grab it and take it with me when I head outside. I'm sure it will come to SGI with me too!

I'm loving this verse - Psalm 27:14. I love reading it in different translations.

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD. (NIV)

Wait patiently for the Lord.Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. (NLT)

Wait on the LORD ;Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD! (NKJV)

Trust in the Lord. Have faith, do not despair. Trust in the Lord. (GNT)

Rely on the LORD! Be stong and confident! Rely on the LORD.

What a difference a year makes.

I've got this song on repeat tonight.

These lyrics stuck out to me....oh how I LOVE them!

Lord you are my God
I rely on You
I put my hope in things not seen
Your promises all true

Just thinking about God and how He is faithful and also how much can change in just a year. I'm thankful that I have a relationship with Him and that I can rely on Him. I am also thankful for the Hope that He provides!

Stars and Stripes

I've started getting ready for the 4th of July! I do love all things patriotic.

I finished this book in record time today. About 3 hours.

Look at these cute pictures of sweet Blakely Whelan. Isn't she so cute?

Weekend Pictures

This was taken right after Matt got home on Friday night after being out of town all week long. He was tired from driving and learning lots of new information. I was tired from not getting much sleep all week long.

We had a cookout on Saturday night with Matt's dad and his wife, Ellen. The only picture I got was of this before we ate. I did make sure to play a mix of Lady Antebellum during supper. I was sad that we didn't go over to Valdosta to hear my favorites!

They brought us some fresh GA peaches, fruit, and goodies. Yum!

We had the best morning in SS, lots of time to catch up with our friends. I thought that our lesson was just what I needed to hear. We are studying Jeremiah and taking responsibility for your sins and getting back on track. We got to share our praise about Matt's job. I loved letting everyone in our class know, because they are some of the people that prayed the hardest for us. Also, it was great to be back worshipping with our church family after being gone the last few weeks.

I just finished the best book. CB told me I would love it and she was right. I can't stop thinking about it!

This picture makes me laugh! After lunch, well after I was done, I just had to sneak off and read the last chapter of my book. Poor Matty and Blakely had to finish alone. My heels are also kicked off in the middle of the floor!

Jeremiah 4:1-2 (NLT)
O Israel,” says the Lord,“if you wanted to return to me, you could. You could throw away your detestable idols and stray away no more. Then when you swear by my name, saying,‘As surely as the Lord lives,’you could do so with truth, justice, and righteousness.
Then you would be a blessing to the nations of the world, and all people would come and praise my name.”
