Just things.

I feel like I've just been enjoying my last few weeks of freedom and taking advantage of the long, lazy days of summer while I can.

I've been going up to school and working in my classroom a bit, and making/typing some things up at home. I tend to make a mess when I'm working. :)

I've been reading...get ready...SUMMER RENTAL!

Other than that we've been spending time on our porches and taking late evening walks. (I'm keeping it real on my blog...messed up hair and no makeup. Don't judge...I just love the memory of us sitting on our front porch watching the rain.)

And watching tv via Netflix.

I roasted these vegetables for supper tonight. They were so good!

Matt has been in a pickin' mood. I love this picture, because he just cracked a joke and I look surprised, and he looks like he is up to no good with his little smirk. We had just left Sunday night church and were picking up a few things at Publix.

I have also been in a cleaning and organzing mood. I literally run around the house like crazy...dusting, wiping down the cabinets, unloading the dishwasher, folding laundry, or cleaning out a closet. Just normal activities that I'm racing through. I don't know what my rush is, but I end up "glowing." HA! Gross I know! Maybe I'm trying get as much done as I can (at the last minute) before my summer slips away.

Blakely is being a perfect golden, as usual. :) I love the picture of her winking.

Throw in a school board meeting....and that about completes our "EXCITING" lives right now. :)

Lamentations 5:21 (The Message) Goes right along with our SS lesson and our Not a fan study.
Bring us back to you, God—we're ready to come back. Give us a fresh start.

And if that article wasn't enough.

I seriously feel like an addict...that has quit an addiction cold turkey. :) This is SO TRUE!!!

And HOW I WILL MISS THIS...

It has finally ended for us.

My heart is sad. But the last episode of the final season of my beloved Friday Night Lights was everything I hoped for...it really was. I just read the best recap...that sums up the best show on earth. You might need some tissues if you love the characters as much as I do. Ha!

Our Friday Night

A rainy night...

Just Go With It...

= A perfect Friday/Lazy Summer Night! :)

Giving God Your All

That is the name of the Bible Study that I'm doing these days. I am starting right now, and it is how I want to go into the "new year." Remember, each school year (Aug-May is my year, then, June and July just count as summer) is the start of my new year...it drives Matt crazy that I judge time that way. :)

These verses jumped right off the page at me tonight. These are things we need to do.

Deuteronomy 10:12-13
And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good.

Deuteronomy 30:2
Return to the Lord your God and obey his voice...with all your heart and soul.

The study posed these questions...Are we unfailing in giving God what we owe Him? Does our heart belong to Him? Do we give Him all the glory? What about our lives--do we live for Him?

Because one day we will have to give account for every careless word that we speak.
Ecclesiastes 11:9
Young people, it’s wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do.

I truly needed this reminder tonight.

Guess what I did today?

I "unofficially" went back to work. I moved my furniture back into place and put up new fabric/border on my bulletin boards. Hopefully, I'll get a lot accomplished after a good half day spent up there tomorrow. I feel like getting everything ready becomes like an addiction to me if I'm not careful.

*Special thanks to my handsome helper. He was a good sport and I couldn't have gotten so much done without him. :) We were working by lamp light because they turned the lights off around 7pm. Good thing he loves me so much. My quote for the night was, "It doesn't have to be perfect, but it has to look perfect." Hmmmmm...me, hard to please? NO WAY! :)

Old and New

Two things make me so happy this week.

1. My old loves, the USA Womens Soccer team are playing in the World Cup, and it is actually on tv. *Memories of my ROLE MODELS and the 1999 FIFA WC are running through my mind. What wonderful athletes and women are these players. It is such a priveledge to watch them play! Surprisingly, I still know a handful of them! US US USA!!!

2. The series finale of my new all time favorite show is on this Friday Night. I'm sad that the show is ending (because in my mind it is real), but excited to see how it all ends. I'm hoping for lots of closure. I want all the characters to come back. And I want the East Dillon Lions to win STATE. Hmmm? I hope I get what I want!
