Shelter Me

Manic Monday doesn't even describe my day today. :) Good thing this song was playing on repeat in my head. :) I love Selah so much!!! I definitely had to make the Lord my hiding place today.

I did have some highlights though...

I never ever do this, but I NEEDED this today. Diet Vanilla Coke.

I tried the trick from the movie, "The Help." It didn't work for me! Could I have used a bad match?

I brought over a "heart healthy" dinner to my fellow team member whose husband just had heart surgery. Actually several of us pitched in to provide a really big meal (they have a huge family), since I live in Melissa's neighborhood, I dropped everything off. It was fun to visit for awhile!

Have a restful evening! :)

A spray paint and burlap kind of Saturday

Matt cut the grass and worked outside on Saturday.

While he did that, I went through his old baby pictures that his dad gave him that needed to be sorted. Wasn't he the cutest little boy?

It was there, organizing his pictures, that I got the scare of my life. If you know me, you know I'm not kidding.

There seemed to be the largest, most disgusting lizard I had ever seen in the bag. I picked up the bag, while screaming, and ran and threw it outside into the backyard. I couldn't stand the thought of the lizard being in my house...that is what gave me strength to be brave and pick up the bag.

As soon as I made it ouside I began gagging and spitting off of the back porch while Matt inspected the lizard with a stick. Truth be told, he was grossed out too because it was so stinkin' big. Our neighbors have got to love living near us.

Well, it was fake, made of plastic. Thank the Lord! Ha! Even though I know it's fake, it still scares me to see it on here. Haha!

I think I was still traumatized by the experience, so I did what I do best (other than shop)...I found some burlap and spray paint in the garage and got to work. I decorated with burlap and spray painted some picture frames. We also hung up a rooster hanging rack that we had hanging in our old house. I also did some major cleaning.

I didn't get out my fall decor yet, but I did burn a fall smelling candle. I just couldn't wait!

Counting down the days until fall and football!

High School Football has started...

and the TCCHS YELLOW JACKETS beat our biggest rival last night, the THS BULLDOGS!!!! EVERYONE in town was at this game. We got Beef O' Brady's to go about an hour and a half before the game started and the restaurant was packed (why we got it go) and you could barely drive without seeing masses of people dressed in navy or red walking to the Jackets Nest stadium.

I love living in a small town and I love game days. It is a requirement in my classroom that kids (and their teacher :))dress in blue and gold on game day! :)

*Note...this was taken very late at night...and I was sick, tired, and achy by this point.

Foxes and Birds...and Pickles!

The foxes are back! I am not happy at all about this!

Blakely was barking in our garage today at a cute little hummingbird. I could tell she loved it. When I got home from class it was still "trapped" in our garage. We both loved it! And I'm happy to report that it is now free!

I am my mama's daughter. I now request extra pickles on sandwiches. :)

This man is soooo hard working! I know you'll do great tomorrow Matty!

Thank you, Lord, for another good day at work and class!

Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.

Nerd alert!

Ok, yes, I am a reading specialist and I am a big reading nerd. I LOVE phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.... and absolutely LOVE learning about it. So, I was giddy all day about the new reading program that we adopted. We had training for half a day today...Chick fil a and teacher talk, cool free stuff, all while being taught new reading techniques! I was a happy girl! And being the complete workaholic, reading nerd that I am...I brought home the teacher edition to dig a little deeper!

We made grilled cheese sandwiches for supper...with spinach, pesto, onion, and tomato. Yum!

AND SELAH and Pistol Annie's new albums came out!

Hope your Tuesday was great!!!

Bliss, Faithfulness, and Homework!

Weekend bliss....I feel like it is so rare lately that we get time to just slow down and be together.

I put out a wreath that Matt's sweet Granny sent us about 5 years ago. I think it looks real Augusty/early Septembery! :)

Awesome August Nights just revive the soul!

I'm loving this HUGE thunderstorm that we're having right now. I barely made it out of the building and into my Tahoe. And now, I already have on my pj's! I am soaking up my free Monday nights...in a few weeks our Bible Study will start back up! Until then I'm finishing up a short Beth Moore study. Learning how to believe God, glorify Him, find satisfaction in Him, experience His peace, and enjoy His presence. I am learning so much, and am flying through the homework each day...ready to dig deeper. Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. -Hebrews 11:6

I'm also loving this cheap 99 cent menu planning pad (or at least that is what I'm using it for) at Wal-Mart. It even matches the colors in our kitchen!

I'm locking myself in the office tonight and FINISHING my 2nd article review. I REALLY AM! :)

A little "HELP" and an afternoon at the day spa...

PERFECTION!

As soon as school ended, I made my way to Madison Grove to spend some time at the most relaxing place in town. It was much needed! Already anticipating my next hair appointment!

I'm going to eat mexican with a friend....love good girl talk! She is teaching at a different school this year, so it will be fun to catch up!

Then we are going to see The Help! I feel like I want to re-read it soon! I read it almost two years ago!

Yay for Friday's!!!!! And having energy!!! :)
