A joyful week...a worshipful/country mix!

Blasting these new songs from my favorite, CNOCK, has helped start my early mornings off right! And I mean EARLY. I've been getting up extra early this week because there is just so much to be done with only 10 days of kindergarten left. :)

And THIS! I love them and Nashville. And Tami Taylor, I mean Rayna. :) I'm sort of getting over the whole Friday Night Lights being over.

Y'all I'm sharing some amazing music. Hope you enjoyed! :)

Let's Fiesta!

We love Mexican food and love the month of May so it only seems fitting to have a little fiesta every year on Cinco de Mayo. We had the neighbors over and I tried to make our casa festive with what I already had. Next year I'm going all out...think a piƱata and more!! Our taco bar was a fun way to start off the week! Playing mariachi music really made it feel like we were on a breezy patio somewhere too!

10 months old!

This is a month late! Molly Caroline turned 10 months old on April 4, 2014.

Molly Caroline crawls everywhere now and fast!

She loves to pull out her bow!

Her two upper front teeth have started coming in.

Balls and Easter Eggs are two of her favorite things! I love hearing her say "ba"

She dances to music often!

She is joyous and filled with laughter. She can just look at something and laugh. It's pretty funny!

She loves to crawl right next to Blakely and hold the tags on her collar. We call it Blakely's jewelry.

We have been trying training cups but so far Molly Caroline only chews on them.

We started packing up a lot of baby gear. She doesn't use it, but it's so hard to put away!

She doesn't love her exersaucer anymore because she wants to be on the go!

She will sit in her crib and play, play, play!

She hugs her stuffed animals when you hand them to her!

We took MC to the beach this month and she loved the sand. I didn't think she would at all! The ocean water was still cold but she loved the pool water. She also loves people watching in restaurants! :)

She has become a little wary of strangers and will usually just stare when they talk to her now. Every now and then she will burst into tears. :( She just loves her family and friends!

Molly Caroline you are the best baby! You are easy and observant and adorable! You are smart and a little bit sassy! You are are biggest blessing ever!

May

It's May! I can't believe it...the past two years have flown by. I love this quote about May. It seems very fitting! "The Worlds favorite season is the Spring. All things seem possible in May."

And the beginning of May always stirs up a roller coaster of emotions. For one, it's the last month of school. Last year on this weekend all of my family and friends came to Thomasville and helped shower Molly Caroline with gifts. It was the best weekend ever! I also got put on bed rest near the middle of May and had lots of time to think. :) The year before on this Friday I found out I had miscarried and was getting prepped for surgery. This weekend I have a precious 11 month old baby girl!

Our May has started out with lots of fun! We watched the Derby, splashed in the kiddie pool, and Matt put up some shutters!

Plus it's birthday party prep month!

When I grow up I want to be a Labor and Delivery Nurse.

It's kind of funny. I have never in my life wanted to be a nurse. One of my roommates and best friends in college was in nursing school and I loved hearing all of her stories. Several of my other close friends are nurses. I even have family members that are nurses. Being a nurse was just not something that I was interested in. Until...June 4, 2013.

I actually went to L and D several times before having Molly Caroline and never had this feeling. Since having her and seeing first hand what all these amazing nurses do, I thank them every chance I get, and I secretly would love to be one! :) Seriously. Matt and I have even discussed me going to nursing school. I would only need Microbiology and then I could start nursing school....I've had all the required chemistry and anatomy classes. I'm kidding, sort of. I'm not going back to school.

I am well aware that it isn't always healthy babies and awesome deliveries. I know it's heartbreaking and backbreaking work. I know it's gross. I gained a whole new perspective after giving birth and as much as I love and praise my doctor for being there with me and getting me through, my nurse was just as much a powerful presence. She got to know me, encouraged me, coached me, set me straight, cleaned me up, and was there for some of the most intimate first moments with my new baby. She was the one that saw me cry after realizing I was going to have a natural delivery :) and the one that forced me to "breathe" and was forced to stay with me when I was saying, "I feel crazy" over and over, and the one that held my legs while I was pushing, and who helped me nurse for the first time. I could go on and on and on about everything that she did. Labor and Delivery nurses are amazing. I would love to do all that for women some day.

Now, I love my mother/baby nurses too. I loved the atmosphere of the mother/baby side of the hospital. We called them multiple times a day for weeks, maybe even months after Molly Caroline was born. They helped me with numerous firsts as well. They took care of my precious new baby girl. They are amazing as well.

Anyway, my labor and delivery nurse shared this on Facebook this week and it got me thinking. :) So I thought I'd share my new found passion. The blog that it is from has some pretty funny things on it. One of my other nurses shares funny posts from it all the time! Enjoy! :)

Take it All Tuesday!

How glorious that it is Tuesday (my favorite day) and the new Passion cd is blaring through our house! Take it All was released today!

Oh yeah and only 18 more days until the last day of school! Hard to believe I've made it almost an entire year balancing motherhood and so much more. My principal and I found that to be quite an achievement during my end of year conference.

I have some sweet plans for my summer baby and our second summer together already!

Praying that we all stay safe in these horribly scary southern storms!

Our Rose Weekend!

It's one of my favorite times of the year on our rose city. We always kick off the weekend with the Rose Bud Parade. I didn't participate in it this year but our schools looked awesome! I told Molly Caroline that she was in the parade last year when her mommy was the teacher of the year! That parade is short and we just stood and kept MC in her stroller. She was tired and watched with her paci.

Friday night is my favorite! We ate supper downtown at Moonspin. Matt got hummus pizza and is now addicted. Then we walked to Broad and set up our chairs in the shade in front of Sweet Grass. Molly Caroline had fun sitting on the bricks and we met some new friends! We also saw the sweet phlebotomist that always took my blood when no one else would stick me over and over at Shaw. Everyone else was scared. She told Matt that she loved me and I was her favorite! I loved getting to let her meet Molly Caroline. The parade was great too! Several of our neighbors watched the parade with us. After the parade MC fell asleep as soon as we strapped her in her stroller. She slept through the loud street dance completely!

I got a rose cupcake before we left. It was the best cupcake I've ever had!

We listened to the fireworks from our house.

We didn't do any art in the park or watch the runners run the rose city run. We needed some home time! But we definitely will next year. We did head back out to Due South! It was so nice! Great food and music, a grassy area for kids to play games, twinkle lights, and catching up with friends. I'm excited about getting there earlier next year.

Molly Caroline even did better at church on Sunday! She cried but not for long! So proud of my sweet girl!
She also found our stairs!

We love our beautiful rose city! We are thankful to live in such an amazing town!
