Ev'ry heart beats true 'neath the red, white, and blue...

Happy Fourth of July! Well, I'm a few days late, but we've been in Atlanta celebrating Independence Day and our nephew, Luke's, birthday. We had a few unexpected things pop up, and couldn't leave as early as we had planned on Saturday, which was a let down. We also wanted to stop in several places to catch up with friends on the way to Atlanta and in the city, but were running short on time, unfortunately.

I listened to this song the entire drive. Luckily, I brought my headphones along.

We spent Saturday night with family...and spent time eating a nice meal, catching up with family, playing corn hole (Matt's new favorite game), and playing with our niece and nephew. We gave Luke a chef outfit and grill for his 3rd bday. He kept on wanted to cook peppers from the garden. He also put his grill in the oven. We didn't know it until someone turned the oven on and smelled burning plastic. Haha!! He will keep you on your toes.

Sunday we went to church and heard the Pipeline Band at West Cobb Church, and they were amazing. It was an emotional time of worship for us, they sang lots of Hillsong, which we love, but Matt's heart was aching for his best friend, who recently lost his dad and is going through some hard times. Prayers would be appreciated for my sweet hubby and his friend.

We ate sandwiches for lunch back at Bekah's and sat out by the pool. It was very relaxing and fun to watch Luke swim.

Around dinner time, Harper fell asleep in Matt's arms, so I got to hold her while everyone ate. I love holding her...she is so cute! After I ate and everyone was ready, we headed out to watch fireworks. We ate cobbler, watched the fireworks, and also watched Luke open some of his presents.

When we got home, we sat and talked with Matt's cousin, aunt, Dad, and Ellen. We were trying to decide on some plans for the next day and everyone was in a silly mood.

We went and "toured" downtown Atl on Monday. We ate lunch at a mexcian restaurant called Tijuana Garage. We got back in time to spend a few minutes with Matt's sisters, Luke, and Harper before we had to head back south. We had a good drive home with no traffic...which we were a little worried about.

All in all, I felt like we packed a lot into one weekend!! Sadly, my summer feels like it is slipping away. :) I am thankful for all of the things that God is teaching me this summer. I feel like He is constantly revealing wisdom to me.
