Welcome to the Future!

We're going hi-tech around this house! Matt kindly informed me this morning that we were getting Direct TV and that the guy would be here in a few minutes (he's here now). I still can't quite fathom that we will have DVR. I have begged for it for years. Now, I'd finally given up and didn't really even want it anymore. And all of a sudden I now have it? What a total SURPRISE!
*Update: we ended up rescheduling because they wanted to put the dish in our FRONT yard. Umm, that's a definite no in my book.

Onto the rest of our day....so far...
We realized that we have a blackberry thicket in our backyard (which scares me because of rattlesnakes), but it is still sort of neat! Pictures of our adventures with our berries!

We are going over to our new neighbors house tonight to bring them a housewarming gift! Should be fun!! While I pick it up at Wal-Mart, I am probably going to have to break down and buy this book. My library cannot get it in fast enough.

I'm going to be tackling our closet for a little while. :) I think we're going to have a big afternoon rain storm too. Ready for Matty to get home safely.

Monday Night

I've been hooked on tv tonight. The Secret life was new!! Love it so much!

I also flipped between Pretty Little Liars and The Real Housewives of NY Reunion.

For some reason, at this time, I just cannot get into the Bachelorette. Stange I know.

We made sliders for supper tonight. They were really good. We were supposed to go walking down Firefly Lane tonight :), but it is thundering out.

I would definitely call today a lazy summer day. Hope your Monday has been great!

If we've ever needed you...

Lord, it's now...We are desperate for your hand, we're reaching out!!! Revive us, now!

I can't get this song out of my head. Matt sang it this morning in two services (maybe that is why). :) I loved it both times. The lyrics are near to our hearts lately.

He actually started with another song, and then merged into this one! LOVED it! I was proud of him! I really, really wanted to get a picture of him playing, but I was so scared that my flash would go off. And my fear kept me from getting one. I will be getting a DVD from our church though.

I feel like I've done two things today. Sleep and go to church. And I loved every minute!
On our way to church...btw my back seats are folded down and the back of my tahoe is filled to the brim with VBS decorations. I haven't gotten around to upacking them yet.

We had to be at church early, like 7:45ish, for sound check. We picked up our neighbor, Abby(she used to be in my class and we became good friends with her parents), on the way. After early service, we went to Sunday School, then went to part of the second service. We left around 11:30 and went to brunch.
After brunch...

We came home and I took a nap. It was thundering outside, and Abby was painting and Matt was watching golf...and those sounds lulled me to sleep.
Abby's painting...

I didn't wake up until it was time to leave for the evening service. We had snow cones after church, and spent some time talking to our neighbors. Sweet Summer Sunday's! :)

We were just blessed by our pastor's sermon this morning and lots of kind words and support from our church family. I also got to visit with some sweet friends. I love our church family!

Oh, one more thing. I am obsessed with any reality show, you know. But I just saw Jillian Michaels' new show, Losing It. I LOVE IT! Can't wait to watch another episode!

Romans 12:2
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Show us your life - china patterns

We will be married 4 years this month and I am not tired of our china patterns at all. First off, we didn't register for formal china or crystal because my Nanny passed down her collection to my mama, and she is going to give it me someday. It is rimmed in silver and has little flowers on it. My mama also has formal Christmas china rimmed in gold. I love both of them!

We registered for 2 everyday patterns. Our everyday set is plain white, simple, and beautiful. It is Grand Gourmet by Wedgwood. I have a platter that I love and the pasta bowls and large buffet plates are great for entertaining. We use the pasta bowls for everything though, they are great. It is discontinued though, and we would like a few more place settings. Luckily, we found a few places online that will sell it at a discount. Maybe we'll add to it soon. :)

We also picked a really fun pattern. Our other everyday set is by M.Bagwell and it is called Happy Together (fitting right?). I love, love, love it! We have everything in this. Canisters, cake stand, chip and dip plate, deviled egg plate, salt and pepper shakers, utensil holder, vases, plate holders, etc. I love mixing and matching. I display it sometimes, but we use it all the time too. She also has a mix and match pattern that we have some things in that you can actually mix and match. :) I just took a picture of what I have out right now. She has added a few casserole dishes to her collection and we don't have those yet.

We didn't register for her Simply Christmas Collection. But my friend, Becky, started us with a piece one year and now we have quite a bit of it. I didn't get a good picture of this, because it is all put away since we only pull it out at Christmas. We have a vegetable platter that is my favorite! We even have ornaments that match! There are some fun Halloween plates that I want too!

I'm excited to see all the different patterns out there!

My pizza purse and Fireflies!

We were planning on going down to MoonSpin last night and getting a slice of pizza, instead of eating leftover taco salad....since I was finally up to go out. So, I gladly packed up my "pepperoni pizza" purse for a punch of color to my outfit. I've had this bag forever, and when I was using it a few years ago, one of my sweet and favorite students told me it looked like pepperoni pizza. Haha! The name has stuck ever since. We ended up not going, and just shared a meal at another place.

We always see tons of fireflies when we are about to turn into our neighborhood and Matt was telling me that they're all over our backyard at night. So we got Blakely and sat out on our back porch watching the glowing fireflies. It was fun! I love them and am so glad that we have them!

We're off for a Saturday morning walk. I'm excited about trying the spicy chic-fil-a sandwich for lunch!! I hear they are really good!

And 1 more thing...

Well, I'm actually going to post about my china patterns for Kelly's Show us Your Life a little later on...or maybe tomorrow.

But I had to share this picture of the hubs and I after our dentist appointments this afternoon. Matt was so excited that I was parked next to a bamboo tree....Ha!
Here we are in front of the bamboo!:)

I will also add that I love my dentist and being at her office. I love the entire staff, I know I say it everytime. I just think it is sort of rare to have such a great dentist. And you know I go all the time.

Love my purple nails! AnnaBeth, Abby, and I ate lunch today at Izzo's after I picked them up from VBS. We sat at the bar...per their request....sporting purple, silver, and lime green nails. I also love keeping the girls!

Date night downtown with my Hubby! Thankful to be feeling a lot better!

What a Week!

So this week is finally coming to an end. I'm feeling like I'm getting better. And I think I finally have the energy to type again. :)

Even though I've been staying home from VBS, I've still been working on lessons and dropping them off at the church each morning. Well, one night I realized that I needed 2 paper towel rolls (empty), so I (desperately) unrolled two. Matt made me promise that I wouldn't waste the PT's and keep them on the counter for us to use. Ummm, this lasted about a day. I hid the rest and he hasn't said anything yet. When the lesson the next day called for 6 more...I got smart and just rolled up construction paper!

I've been spending a lot of time at CVS, picking up prescriptions and what not. In fact, I had to go last night because the inside of my mouth is covered in blisters from my fever, strep, or something. While I was there, I got sucked into the nail trend for Spring/Summer. I couldn't decide, b/c naturally, I wanted all of the colors. But ended up with Lively Lilac for now. I liked the name.

Matt's been really good about helping me cook this week. We had cereal one night. I couldn't decide what sounded good to me, so I pured myself a variety. Matt hates that I waste things, so he just couldn't believe that I would fix that much when he didn't think I would eat it. Turns out, he was right again. I ate one cup, maybe half of another. Honestly, I don't really want to see cereal for awhile now.

Other than going to the Dr., popping pills, and getting injections, I've been playing games with the girls, driving and picking them up from VBS, and thinking. I haven't really watched tv, read any books, napped, or gotten any exercise...I feel too bad or just can't concentrate. So I just sit around and think. And trust me, I don't need to think. When I think, I start to worry, over-analyze, and plan. I took this of Matt watching the CMT awards, while I was thinking. :)

I've got a busy day of tearing down my VBS classroom, taking the girls out to lunch, and then going to the Dentist (By the way, since my medical mayhem post, I've been back to the Dr again, and here I am going to the Dentist today). Lots of co-paying going on....you know what I mean? :)
