Misty Day!

While the entire southeast was getting snow today, we have just been having a freezing cold, bone-chilling, rainy day here in south GA. It has been a steady mist all day. I had a great day at work and left exactly at 3:32 on the dot (that hardly ever happens). I came home after school for just a split second to change into my uggs, workout pants, long johns, and fleece jacket. Then I had several errands to run, including a stop by the library, before going to a JSL meeting for our upcoming Bargain Bazaar. We met in the board room of Thomasville National Bank and I felt so official! Ha!

When I got home we had soup and grilled cheese for dinner. Perfect for a cold and rainy day.



I had a gift card for Grassroots coffee downtown, so we picked up our coffee and I lovingly looked at a few of my favorite shops right by Grassroots. I love my downtown and the cute window displays that are constantly changing. Grassroots has a great atmosphere and we enjoyed sitting for a few minutes before rushing home to watch our shows.
















We are home now and flipping between the Bachelor, and the Auburn/Oregon game. I am thankful to be under the covers of a warm bed tonight...snuggled up to my husband and perfect golden.

Wrapping up our Weekend

We had our own TGIF on Friday night (remember how you couldn't wait to get all the girls together, order pizza, and watch TGIF?...well apparently boys liked it watch it too!) Matt and I were tired from our week so we watched Super Nanny and grilled out. We both wanted something sweet but were too cold to go out. I walked into the kitchen to find Matt and all (well most) of the ingredients for sugar cookies. They didn't look pretty, but tasted fine!





Saturday we were in an organizing mood. We began an office overhaul...complete with moving furniture around. We were supposed to have an awesome date (that was planned for 2 weeks) to see Country Strong and eat at Longhorn. Well, the movie didn't come to our town....I am still upset about this fact...and we didn't feel like driving. We also tried to go up to the library...we got there at 3:30, but that is exactly when it closes. So we went to Wal-mart and Publix, played some golf in the yard, cooked enchiladas for dinner, and watched Eat, Pray, Love.






We were supposed to go to a few break-out sessions at our church tonight about missions and we planned on going at 6 like normal....but when I checked the bulletin right before 5....the time was changed to 5. We wouldn't have made it on time. Oh well. I'm going to go ahead and iron for the week, pack lunches, and cook dinner. I'm hoping to be in bed by 9 to watch Desperate Housewives and then go to bed early. It is soooo cold here, but we probably won't get any ice or snow!! I'm very jealous of all my friends and family members that get an extended weekend!! :)

Today

I went to school this morning and had no idea that it was so wet outside. I had on suede shoes and my longest pants. This is how I strolled into the building this morning. Trendy...huh? :)


I was surprised with a gift card to Jonah's by one of my sweet families this morning. I can't wait to go on a date with my hubby! Yum!


My kids "knitted" mittens this morning. They decorated them with peace signs and hearts!



I took a picture right as I was leaving school late again this afternoon! FINALLY ahead again!


Now I'm watching The Real Housewives. I am very addicted to this show.


I'm so thankful for so many things this Thursday.

I've been reading a lot about trusting the Lord this week. Trusting Him, waiting on His timing, and truly following His commandments. I feel like I'm learning so much.

What I'm loving Wednesday

Snuggling with my man on this rainy, rainy night. It has rained all day long here in south Georgia. This week at school has been insane...tons of paperwork, report cards, and meetings. I've been working late a lot, but still managed to cook every night, exercise, and have a small amount of down time. I'm thankful for that. Of course next week will be back to normal as I've got League, a board meeting, and a few other things going on that will take up my evenings.

My kids have naptime every afternoon, while the teachers have collaboration, RTI meetings, or BST meetings. I always play different music, depending on my mood. On our school server we have a "Naptime music" folder. One of Jim Brickmans cd's is on it. My kids LOVE it. They request it....as funny as that may seem. Well today, it was super dark and rainy out, and my room was pretty silent. All of a sudden the song, "You", came on and I heard about 10 little voices (that apparently weren't sleeping, but were acting like it) break out in song. I hear my kids sing all the time....we love singing, especially Christmas songs. But for some reason, hearing them singing the lyrics to this song made me laugh! My babies are sure cute. I LOVE my job!


I was admiring our new little love seat while I was cooking supper. My Aunt Lynn gave it to Matt and I over Christmas. It is in great condition and matches our couch quite nicely. We are very grateful for it, and I'm excited that it adds extra seating in our room.


Lately, I LOVE the color, My Private Jet, for winter. I also love this body wash. It smells so fresh and the bubbles last forever.


I'm glad tomorrow is already Thursday!

All Things New!

Ask anyone. I love a fresh start, or a fresh word, or giving my kids "fresh" school supplies to use. :) Don't y'all?

Matt and I went back to work today after our vacation. We're starting the 3rd nine weeks at school and I love how organized and clean everything is in my classroom right now. I am thankful for a new schedule...and our time at home together tonight.


I filled in my new planner yesterday. I love doing that!


We got our new journals at church last night. Our pastor is challenging us to spend every day in 2011 in the Word of God. It is only day 3, but I'm already enjoying it.


Even my Southern Living mag has the words FRESH STARTS in bold on the January cover.

First weekend in January!

I'm beginning the new year with no camera! What ever will I do?? :) I guess I will have to rely on my blackberry (crackberry...it is really cracked) for the next few months.

We ended 2010 by going out to dinner at one of our favorite places, Cafe Marebella, downtown. We had a great time...the atmosphere is awesome and the food is so delicious.




We drove around and looked at lights...talked about our goals for the new year. I guess you could say we were making plans. Of course, we know that God's plans for us are probably totally different than what we imagine. We are prepared for that and want to seek His guidance like never before and draw people to Christ this year...we want to be like magnets to Him. Matt, Blakely, and I were all together as the "peach" dropped and we welcomed in 2011!

New Year's Day was dreary and rainy. Perfect for taking down decorations and relaxing. I felt like we were gone so much that I didn't get to enjoy our trees. But now that they are down, I am thankful for how clean and organized our house feels. Winter ready.

I made greens, black eyed peas, and pork for supper. It was the first time that we had a traditional new years meal at our new house.


We ended the first day of 2011 by watching a movie together. Of course, we had to have popcorn and MnM's.


I loved turning to the beginning of my favorite devotional and seeing one of my most loved verses.
"For I know the plans I have for you, " declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11

Then I read:
"Come to me with a teachable spirit, eager to be changed. A close walk with Me is a life of continual newness. Do not cling to old ways as you step into a new year. Instead, seek My face with an open mind, knowing that your journey with Me involves being transformed by the renewing of your mind. " -Jesus Calling

I was also encouraged by this quote that my friend, Mrs. Jeannie, shared.
