30 feels old, but it's not! :)

Matt's 30th was fun to celebrate! I woke him up on Wednesday morning around 5:45 with breakfast waiting on him! I felt bad to wake him up so early, but I wanted to see him for awhile before I went to work. I also gave him his gifts!

We grilled out for his birthday supper, but ate light, as Team Lean weigh-ins were the next morning. I made angel food cake with strawberries for dessert. I saw the idea to put sprinkles in a jar on pinterest and had to try it out! Matt worked pretty late that night, so by the time he got home, we ate, and he finished calling people back, his birthday was over! :(

But, we had a real birthday dinner planned for Thursday to his favorite, Moto, a japanese steakhouse. We sat with two other families and had great conversations with them. Matt ordered a sushi appetizer (that was cooked) and we passed it around to the others at the table. It was fun to share food with complete strangers! Who knew that the organge "ball sprinkles" were actually fish eggs! How completely disgusting! Overall, I feel like we left with some new friends! We had a fun chef too!

I hope that Matt's 30th will be one that he remembers with lots of good memories! Don't worry, hubs....me and the rest of our friends aren't too far behind you! :)

Fun Family Weekend and a Baingbridge Trip

I kicked off last weekend a little early by spending time at the soccer fields! 3 of my sweet babies play on the same team, so that works out absolutely perfect for me! I was a teacher bearing "soccer goodies"!!! They were beyond thrilled to get their favorite snacks and fun soccer pens and notepads (to write their sight words with :0))!!! I loved every minute of watching my soccer stars!

I went to a fun recipe brunch Saturday morning for sweet Katie Ragan!! I was hoping to get more pictures but my phone was not charged at all!

My family came to help celebrate Matty Matt's BIG birthday! They arrived around lunchtime, so we ate at Granddaddy's.

We shopped around downtown. I saw two of my favorite cookbooks right beside each other at Kevin's. JSL and Happy Everything!

Then got ready for his little "surprise" family birthday celebration! we made homemade pizza and watched tv with the family! I loved it!

Sunday was gorgeous! We had fun setting up Matt's new hammock and trying it out! I loved laying under the pines and swaying in the breeze! Total relaxation!

Monday I went to Bainbridge with my friend Robin. We met up with Karen and Katie for a day of eating, shopping, and rehearsal dinner planning. We ate lunch on the square and I had the best sandwich, The Bainbridge. Sadly, I have no pictures! Then we checked out the spot for the rehearsal dinner. I think the location is going to be great! My first time visiting, Reeves Linens and Gifts, did not disappoint. I liked everything there! Robin, Karen, and I each got ourselves a treat or two. :) Katie picked up a few wedding gifts (mainly Arthur's Court...ha)! Reeves deserves another whole post!

As always, I could easily get used to 3 day weekends! They are AMAZING!

Other than celebrating, I have been studying James, planning a few trips, partaking in lots of wedding festivities and baby festivities, and I also have SPRING FEVER!

Catching up on my blog....soon!

A little bit sentimental...

I really like bubble baths. A lot. They are relaxing and allow me to clear my mind and think. I was listening to this new song by Audrey Assad tonight and I just LOVE it and how it speaks to me. I love the lyrics, I love that it is about seasons, and I love how it relates to different stages in your walk with Lord. It is a hopeful song and I adore that about it too. Take the time to listen to it.

As I was listening to the song, I was burning my favorite candle, my WoodWick Vanilla Bean candle from Fall 2006. Do y'all know the kind? It smells sooooo good. Anyway, I realized that is almost all the way burned out and that the smell of it instantly reminds me of when I got it, my friend Amanda's wedding festivities, our old house, our new house...you get the picture. I don't want it to run out. Yes, they might still make the same scent (I don't know if they do) and I can surely get another candle to replace it. I know, I know. I just LOVE that particular one! Who gets attached to candles???? Someone please tell me!!! Ha!!

Also, being that our family loves all things St. Patty's, my Mama brought me a fun treat this weekend. Look where she left it!!! Thanks Mama, I love it!

Ok, dishes are calling my name. And maybe just one more episode of Parenthood...haha! I am so excited about having the day off tomorrow!

Some pink stuff...

I helped one of my friends help decorate for her daughter's 1st birthday last weekend. She set the theme: Pinkalicious, and I just helped her set up and make a few things...it was fun! We had a few planning sessions at my house to get ready before Julia's big day, and that was the perfect time to catch up! I made a lot of tissue paper balls! Who knew they would be so easy and cheap?

I ran with the theme and wore a pink scarf and pink uggs to set up in. :)

We used lots of pink, some things from Julia's nursery, and had everyone sign the book, "Pinkalicious." All guests were encouraged to dress in pink as well! :) Matt spent most of the party playing baseball and soccer outside with the kids...he is going to be the BEST daddy one day! We also enjoyed lots of pink cotton candy...YUM!

I wanted a "pink-ture" :), but Matt just wouldn't cooperate. We picked up take-out and watched a bunch of episodes of Parenthood. Our kind of night!
