The Last Song, Welcome back High School

The Last Song releases today! I can't wait to go see it soon! I read the book, and it was obviously great.

Did you know that the movie was filmed on Tybee Island right here in GA? I haven't been to Tybee Island in a looong time, but just hearing about it brings up lots of memories of high school!

I didn't live too far from it, and that is where my friends and I would always go for day trips to the beach. Spring Break, Lazy Summers, Graduation...oh, those were the days! I love that little island and am excited to see it on the big screen!! Not to mention, I love the song by Miley.

And I love this too. American Honey by Lady Antebellum...my favorites! This reminds me of summer and summer memories too!

Come and Listen

My what a wild week!! I have been checking things off of my to-do list left and right. Which is a good thing. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...Spring Break! We had a field trip today and on Thursday we have our Easter egg hunt and party at school. Monday, my support and I spent most of our free time at school preparing pineapple cans to be Easter buckets!!! You could hear the sounds of drills coming from my classroom halfway down the hall during naptime!!! lol! The kids think we are crazy...so much fun! Here is the finished product!

We finished our Spring Bible Study last night. It was really good and I hated for it to end. Already ready for the next one!

I have started decorating for Easter. I don't have many Easter decorations at all. These are the two things I have.

So, I went on the hunt for a few nice branches today in my yard to make an egg tree while supper cooked. I had the perfect branch (from my old Assistant Principal) but i threw it away when we moved. I am please with the way it turned out!

I do a little floral arrangement every year too, but I'll probably set it up on Friday. Pictures to follow this weekend. :)

Oh, and Abigail decorated my plate for Easter. :)

Of course I have to show this...Our first supper at our new table.

This song has been on my heart lately. It is on repeat in my car. I feel like it puts my mind in the right perspective each morning on my way to work.

Psalm 66:16
Come and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.

Our weekend...

We went to Atlanta this weekend to see our family. We got to see our nephew, Luke, who we hadn't see in a long time. And we got to meet our new niece, Harper! It was a great weekend, but far too short! We spent most of Saturday at Bekah and Shanes house hanging out, playing, and eating. Matt's sister Rachel also flew in from DC, so we got to see her too! Sunday we went to Mike and Ellen's church, West Cobb Church, and then went to eat at Sweet Tomatoes (it's a tradition), and did a little bit of shopping at Home Goods, Michael's, and TJ Maxx! Here are some pictures from our weekend. We'll be back up there in less than a month and we can't wait. Just looking at these pictures of Harper make me want to just drive those 5 hours again right now and scoop her up!!!

I took this pictures Saturday night and it is my absolute favorite!!!! It is of the three Whelan siblings and then the two grandbabies all on the same couch!!! This wasn't staged. I couldn't resist taking a picture of them! So sweet!

Oooh La La!

Do y'all read Fancy Nancy books to your kids? Mine are OBSESSED! She always says fancy words and oooh la la is one of them! :)

Anyway, our new furniture arrived on Friday...right before we went out of town. Here are some pics I snapped before we headed to Atlanta! We LOVE it!

We just got home from Atlanta and are unpacking and getting ready for the week. I'm supposed to be finalizing lesson plans, but instead I'm blogging! We had a great trip and got to see our niece and nephew, Harper and Luke!!! So much fun! I will post about our weekend tomorrow!

A little bit of life...

Do you see what time I am typing this? 3:00! I attended a super fabulous fun workshop on economics today and didn't have to be there until 8 and we were out by 2. We didn't get a lunch break, but they brought in Chick fil-a-side salads and sandwiches! There were only two of us from our school representing HNH. We sat with a table of ladies from Bainbridge! Our table might've had too much fun. While in the meeting I made two mental notes. Everyone in that meeting had on a pandora and or brighton bracelet and had a coach or louis vuitton purse. Everyone but me, I had my giant flower purse instead. Remember it? But I do have two coach bags on the bakers rack in my closet. So I still felt like I belonged. :) So apparently, you know you are a teacher in SWG if you sport pandora and coach. HA!

Anyway, I left and ran downtown to complete a quick errand after our meeting. I was very tempted to drop by in a few of my fav stops and visit with some of my friends, but was responsible, and came home instead. I was looking forward to something at home anyway. At 4:00 we will be getting a delivery!! Our table and chairs!!!!!!

It is so gorgeous out today! I am on the porch in a rocking chair, tervis tumbler of diet coke by my side! The only downside is the pollen. Our normally white railing is tinted yellow, as well as our oil rubbed bronze door handle! I don't have bad allergies, but I will get a scratchy throat and lose my voice.

Last night was great too. Matt's game got cancelled and I finished reading Take 3 by KK. It is my favorite book in the Above the Line series. I had a new little visitor drop by a little bit after 5 too. She came in and watched tv upstairs, and then played with my old American Girl dolls that I keep for Anna and Abby to play with. Blakely sat and watched her play the entire time.

It started to rain so Matt moved her bike inside, and then we ate supper. It never did quit raining, so we loaded up her bike in my tahoe and drove her home. She is in K at my school and in case you didn't know, it is like I am a magnet for 5 and 6 year old little girls! I am just thankful that I get to impact their lives and hopefully be a postive influence on them!

Spring is such a glorious time! Days like today feel like a breath of fresh air. I'm loving it and am so thankful for all of God's blessings.

One more thing to get excited about...we mixed up the pastel colors at school yesterday and my babies went to town painting Easter eggs! I am so excited about Easter week with them...and of course...SPRING BREAK!

Play Ball

It is starting. I have the schedule hanging up on my fridge. We have games twice a week until the middle of May. There are cleats caked with red Georgia clay sitting on our garage steps. We are playing ball y'all! Matt's first game was last night!! He played really well, but this is him when we got home. Ha!

These past two weeks have been the busiest EVER! I am excited about going to a Social Studies workshop on Friday and I'm really looking forward to Spring Break in 8 days!!! We're just working really hard and having a lot of fun! I hope that your week is going well!!

Phillippians 2:2b-4, 14-15 (The Message)
Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don't push your way to the front; don't sweet talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don't be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.

Do everything readily and cheerfully - no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God.

Spring has Sprung!

The first day of Spring here in GA was perfect. We got spoiled!! I had such a productive day! Lots of happenings going on around town. Softball and Baseball kicked off out at a local park!! The day was packed with games!! There was also The Heritage, a 5K walk!! And of course, I had to squeeze in time to re-watch New Moon!!!

Our pretty Spring weather didn't last too long though. We woke up to gloomy skies and lots of rain this morning. We went to church, went to Publix, and stayed around the house. The sun finally came out around 5pm, so we ate our supper (sandwiches) outside on the front porch and I finished up my Bible Study for the week. I love to sit out on our front porch in a rocking chair!!

Here we are on our way to church! I finally got to use my giant flower purse that Matt got me about a month ago! I just didn't feel like it was appropriate for winter. :) It is seriously huge, and I love it.

Eating supper on the front porch!

Look what Matt picked me!

When I saw that Kelly had posted the lyrics to Every Season by Nichole Nordeman it immediately took me back to a time when I listened to Nichole all the time. This video is so pretty and it also reminds me of my 4 seasons!!

I read some of my So Long Insecurity book today. I loved this!
God's got what we need. It's up to us whether or not we're going to let the worst of us get the best of us.

May the Lord answer you when you are in trouble; may the God of Jacob make you secure!
Psalm 20:1, NET

Psalm 130:5
I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait, and in His Word do I hope.

Almost Spring, Wild Game Supper, and Celebrations!

Thursday was the annual Men's Wild Game Supper at our church. I love dressing in camo and helping pour tons of sweet tea and water! I love walking around with quail and just seeing all of our men get together for food and fellowship! When the speaker starts the women clean up a bit and head over to Richard's Evening Grill to eat supper together. I was busy, busy that night so instead of going with them, I went to Publix instead...exciting right? Had to be done.

Here are Matt and I at the supper 2 years or so ago.

This year I decided to add some tortoise hoops with my camo. I actually had a snakeskin headband picked out to wear too, but left it at home.

With Spring right aorund the corner, that means that Relay for life is coming up soon too. Each spring, our school raises money by making different themed baskets to auction off. It is a really fun thing to do! The theme on our wing was Spring/Easter. We had so much stuff that we are going to auction off two baskets. I hope that we raise lots of money this year!

Robin and I filled and wrapped these cute goody baskets!

I made Bridesmaids' luncheon keylime cakeballs (it is the recipie from my Bridesmaids luncheon) for a celebration my wing was having! I have a few women on my hall that request these each time we bring food.

Then, Friday morning was full as well. I got to school really early to set up for our March Birthday girls! I got the chocolate layer cake from my favorite Cakes by Jayne here in town. I love our monthly lunches!

Here is the set-up. The broccoli salad wasn't on the table yet.

Report cards also went home, and we had graduation pictures. I was so TIRED when I got home. We had an uneventful evening, but it was perfect. We made enchiladas and ate supper in our dining room with all the windows in the entire house open. This is the last Friday that we will eat in there...our table and chairs will be delivered this week!!!! I also sat outside with Blakely for a little while and Matt hit golf balls. The weather was perfect! It is almost Spring and you can tell!

Later Matt was working on some paperwork and watching tv. I decided to go put away some laundry in our closet, probably about 9:30ish. At 12:30, Matt walked into the bedroom and said he almost had a heart attack because I was laying in the closet floor. I went to sleep in the closet surrounded by piles of folded clean laundry. I guess there is a first time for everything. I don't even remember laying down. Ha!!

Enjoy your weekend!
